NBA DFS: Top Daily Fantasy Picks for DraftKings, FanDuel include Donovan Mitchell

Donovan Mitchell - NBA DFS Lineup Picks, Daily Fantasy Basketball

Free daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for today's slate on DraftKings and FanDuel. Use Juan Carlos Blanco's NBA DFS expert picks to building winning DFS lineups on February 7, 2024.

We're set for a relatively modest -- by Wednesday standards -- seven-game slate, one that features several eye-catching matchups. There are multiple games with elevated projected totals as well, setting up what should be quite the night for DFS lineup construction, for both cash and GPPs.

The key to being successful in NBA DFS comes down to making adjustments during the day as injury information becomes available. But it's always really important to have a game plan and the best players and spots circled first before making those adjustments. To keep up with all the latest developments and get access to updated projections, grab an NBA season pass and also gain access to our RotoBaller Premium Discord where @chiefjustice6 is talking about the slate up until lineups lock!

Today's NBA DFS Core Picks

Make sure to review our premium projections to see who our system is singling out as particularly strong plays tonight.

The Cavaliers as a whole are in an excellent spot Wednesday thanks to the matchup against the Wizards, which average over four full possessions more per game than Cleveland and also have trouble defending every position. Frontline Cleveland players such as Donovan Mitchell, Darius Garland, Evan Mobley, and Jarrett Allen are consequently in an excellent position to thrive.

The Hawks-Celtics matchup carries the highest total of the night, and given some of Atlanta's body of work this season, even the mid-240s figure may prove way too low. Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Kristaps Porzingis should all be in a position to excel, while the likes of Trae Young and Dejounte Murray have similar opportunities on the other side of the matchup.

The Pistons have surprised some quality teams this season with feisty play, but their matchup against the Kings is especially appealing on the Sacramento side. Detroit's struggles defending both point guards and centers bodes particularly well for De'Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis.

Top Core Plays:

  1. Domantas Sabonis, SAC vs. DET ($10,100 DK; $10,500 FD)
  2. Donovan Mitchell, CLE at WAS ($9,900 DK; $10,400 FD)
  3. Jayson Tatum, BOS vs. ATL ($9,600 DK; $10,200 FD)

Today's NBA DFS Value Picks

There's always a solid amount of value options when 14 teams are in action, and with some particularly defensively vulnerable teams in action Wednesday, there will be some especially appealing ways to save salary.

Kelly Oubre Jr. has been thriving in a starting shooting guard role and now has even more opportunity in Joel Embiid's (knee) absence, as he's averaging 32.6 DK/33.3 FD points per 36 minutes with his teammate off the floor.

Terry Rozier is finally starting to settle into his new Miami digs after a particularly ragged start, averaging over 35 fantasy points per game in the last three contests. He's in a spot to continue his productive ways Wednesday, as the Spurs are allowing an NBA-high 31.9 offensive efficiency rating to point guards, as well as over 52 fantasy points per game on either site to the position for the season.

Malik Monk always makes for an intriguing tournament play, given his streaky nature on offense. The veteran guard is currently boasting a hot hand but still benefiting from a recent salary reduction, as he's shooting 57.5 percent, including 45.5 percent from distance, in the last three contests while averaging over 34 fantasy points per game. The Pistons are conceding 49.2 percent shooting to second-unit players as well, furthering his case.

Top Value Plays:

  1. Kelly Oubre Jr., PHI vs. GSW - SG/SF ($6,300 DK; $6,900 FD)
  2. Terry Rozier, MIA vs SAS - PG/SG ($6,000 DK; $7,000 FD)
  3. Malik Monk, SAC vs. DET – PG/SG ($5,400 DK; $6,000 FD)

Today's NBA DFS Picks: Point Guard

Donovan Mitchell's matchup is elite, considering the Wizards' have allowed an NBA-high 26.6 offensive efficiency rating to shooting guards, along with a co-NBA-high 46.1 DK/NBA-high 45.4 FD points per game to the position on the season. Washington also brings a significant bump in pace to Cleveland, considering they play at a co-NBA-high clip of 106.0 possessions per game.

Young will play an integral part in the game with the highest projected total of the night, and he checks in averaging well over 50 fantasy points per game on both sites in the last five contests.

Fox draws a premium matchup against a Pistons team surrendering the fourth-highest offensive efficiency rating to PGs (24.7), along with an NBA-high 54.7 DK/54.3 FD points per contest to the position.

Top PG Options:

  1. Donovan Mitchell, CLE at WAS ($9,900 DK; $10,400 FD)
  2. Trae Young, ATL at BOS ($9,100 DK; $9,800 FD)
  3. De'Aaron Fox, SAC vs. DET ($8,100 DK; $9,200 FD)

Today's NBA DFS Picks: Shooting Guard

Jaylen Brown will also have a key role in the potential Hawks-Celtics shootout, and he's coming in with a bit of extra rest after last taking the floor Thursday due to a one-game absence as a result of a back injury. He's also facing a Hawks team that's allowed 43.6 DK/42.7 FD points per contest to small forwards.

Jaden Ivey continues to be one of the Pistons' most consistent sources of production averaging 18.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 4.3 assists while shooting 49.0 percent, including 44.0 percent from three-point range, in his last 10 games. The Kings have also been more susceptible to shooting guards of late, allowing 48.1 DK/46.4 FD points per contest to the position in the last seven contests.

Max Strus is another potential beneficiary of the matchup against the Wizards, which have given up the fourth-highest offensive efficiency rating to small forwards (24.7), as well as the third-most DK (45.1) and FD (45.0) points per game to the position in the last 30 games. Washington is also yielding an elevated 38.3 percent three-point shooting at home.

Top SG Options:

  1. Jaylen Brown, BOS vs. ATL ($8,000 DK; $8,500 FD)
  2. Jaden Ivey, DET at SAC ($6,400 DK; $7,500 FD)
  3. Max Strus, CLE at WAS ($5,600 DK; $5,900 FD)

Today's NBA DFS Picks: Small Forward

Jayson Tatum scored 54.8 DK/50.8 FD points in his one prior meeting against the Hawks, and Atlanta has allowed an Eastern Conference-high 32.0 offensive efficiency rating to power forwards. Moreover, Atlanta is allowing an NBA-high 53.8 DK/Eastern Conference-high 51.8 FD points per game to the position for the season.

Kawhi Leonard is about as reliable a play as there is and carries very appealing salaries for his upside, typically putting up some of the most well-balanced lines in the league. The star wing has put up 27.8 points (on 59.9 percent shooting, including 51.2 percent from three-point range), 7.4 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.8 steals, and 1.3 blocks per contest in the last eight contests and should once again see elevated usage in what could be a wire-to-wire battle.

Brandon Miller has seen his usage rise significantly since the trade of Terry Rozier, averaging over 45 fantasy points per game on either site in the last five games while shooting 48.6 percent, including 44.7 percent from behind the arc. He should benefit from a matchup against a Raptors team that's allowing an NBA-high 28.0 percent offensive efficiency rating to small forwards.

Top SF Options:

  1. Jayson Tatum, BOS vs. ATL ($9,600 DK; $10,200 FD)
  2. Kawhi Leonard, LAC vs. NOP ($8,900 DK; $9,500 FD)
  3. Brandon Miller, CHA vs. TOR, ($7,200 DK; $7,700 FD)

Today's NBA DFS Picks: Power Forward

Miles Bridges is another Hornets player who's benefited from Rozier's departure, and he facing a Raptors team that's allowed 51.9 DK/49.4 FD points per game to power forwards in the last 15 contests.

Kristaps Porzingis is another member of the Celtics in a good spot for the game with the highest projected total of the night, and he'll face a Hawks frontcourt that will still be down Clint Capela due to his adductor strain. Atlanta has already been vulnerable down low with Capela, surrendering the fifth-highest offensive efficiency rating to centers (36.5) and over 61 fantasy points per game on either site to the position in the last 30 contests.

Evan Mobley eased back into action after a long layoff due to a knee injury, but he's now scored between 44.5 and 48 fantasy points on both sites in the last two contests. The big man is back to playing a normal workload, and he's facing a Wizards team conceding an NBA-high 94.6 offensive efficiency rating to frontcourt players and an NBA-high 58.8 points in the paint per game.

Top PF Options:

  1. Miles Bridges, CHA vs. TOR ($8,400 DK; $8,700 FD)
  2. Kristaps Porzingis, BOS vs. ATL ($7,500 DK; $8,100 FD)
  3. Evan Mobley, CLE at WAS ($7,100 DK; $8,000 FD)

Today's NBA DFS Picks: Center

Domantas Sabonis' jaw-dropping streak of games with at least a double-double is now up to 32, and he's in a great spot to extend it Wednesday against a Pistons team that's allowing the sixth-highest offensive efficiency rating to centers (35.7) and over 59 fantasy points per game to the position on the season.

Allen draws the best matchup in the league for centers, as the Wizards have given up an NBA-high 39.6 offensive efficiency rating to centers, as well as an NBA-high 63.8 DK/63.1 FD points per contest to the position. Washington has also conceded an NBA-high 57.4 rebounds per contest, and Allen should be in a good position to benefit from the Wizards' aforementioned propensity for allowing scoring in the paint -- 78.3 percent of the big man's point come from that area of the floor.

Washington offers some nice upside at his salaries, as he's scored over 30 fantasy points on either site in six of the last nine games while shooting an impressive 53.8 percent over the entirety of that span. The Raptors are also good targets, as they've allowed 48.9 percent shooting to second-unit players, including 37.9 percent from three-point range.

Top C Options:

  1. Domantas Sabonis, SAC vs. DET ($10,100 DK; $10,500 FD)
  2. Jarrett Allen, CLE at WAS ($7,600 DK; $8,200 FD)
  3. P.J. Washington, CHA vs. TOR ($5,700 DK; $6,700 FD)

Today's Top NBA DFS Game Stacks

  1. Hawks at Celtics (244.5 point total)
  2. Pistons at Kings (243.5 point total)
  3. Pelicans at Clippers (234.5 point total)

Today's Top NBA DFS Avoids

  1. Stephen Curry carries a legitimate risk of not justifying his $9.5K salary on DK and $9.3K figure on FD, despite some recent standout performances -- the Warriors will be on their fourth road game in six nights Wednesday and he's facing a 76ers team that's allowed just 43.2 percent shooting to point guards.
  2. Kyle Kuzma ($7.5K- DK/ $7.8K- FD) has some fairly elevated salaries but is facing a Cavs team that he's averaged under 20 fantasy points against in two previous contests and that is back at full strength in the frontcourt due to the return of Mobley.
