DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks (1/28/17): NBA DFS Advice

The slate is interesting tonight, as it's fairly large, but we only have three players priced at $10k or higher. That means it won't be quite as necessary to find extremely value plays. Still, there are plenty of solid salary relief plays on the slate tonight.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 1/28/17. The DFS lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays on DraftKings. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @BalesSJustin.

DraftKings DFS Guards

Isaiah Thomas – PG, at MIL ($9,400)

At this point, it’s crazy to avoid Thomas. He has been an elite fantasy option recently, as he’s a player that comes with a high floor and an even better ceiling. The Celtics blew out the Magic last night, which led to Thomas playing limited minutes. He was still able to post a respectable line, and he should be fully rested for the game tonight. He’s a player that has been underpriced for weeks now, and that’s the case again tonight. He gets a tough matchup against the Bucks, but he can be used in all leagues for his current price tag.

Ricky Rubio – PG, vs BKN ($7,000)

Rubio has missed a few games for multiple reasons recently, but he has looked outstanding when he has played. Over his last seven complete games, he’s averaging 41.5 fantasy points per game. He isn’t an elite scorer, but he can contribute in multiple categories, which is where he gets his upside. He still isn’t all that expensive, and he gets an elite matchup against a weak Brooklyn defense tonight. Rubio does come with a bit of risk, but he’s a solid option in all leagues.

Jameer Nelson – PG, at PHO ($5,300)

Emmanuel Mudiay did not travel with the Nuggets for their upcoming road stint, which means Jameer Nelson will be locked into big minutes and a bigger workload. He is coming off a 37 fantasy point performance against the Suns, and he gets another matchup against them tonight. Nelson is averaging nearly 30 fantasy points per game against Phoenix this season, and he’s a great salary relief option in all leagues tonight.

DraftKings DFS Forwards

DeMarcus Cousins – PF/C, at CHA ($11,000)

Cousins has been locked into big minutes for the Kings recently, and he will be looking at big minutes again tonight, even though he is coming off an overtime game last night. He has also looked outstanding since the injury to Rudy Gay, as he’s averaging 61.5 fantasy points per game over his last four games. He still comes with a reasonable price tag, and he gets a solid matchup against the Hornets. Cousins will continue to post a huge usage rating tonight, and he can be used in all leagues.

Andrew Wiggins – SF, vs BKN ($7,200)

Wiggins is a player that goes on hot and cold streaks because he relies so heavily on scoring. Over the last 10 days, he’s averaging 22.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.0 steal per game. The Wolves have been running a short rotation, which means Wiggins will be playing huge minutes again tonight. He gets a great matchup against the Nets, who he scored 52 fantasy points against earlier this season. Wiggins is still reasonably priced, and he can be used in all leagues on the slate tonight.

Jae Crowder – SF, at MIL ($5,800)

Crowder has quietly been heating up for the Celtics, as he has scored 40.5, 45, and 31.5 fantasy points in his last three games. He has been scoring surprisingly well, but he can also add peripheral stats on a nightly basis. He isn’t very expensive, and he gets an elite matchup against the Bucks tonight. Milwaukee has been the worst team in the NBA against the small forward this season, and Crowder is cheap enough to be used in all leagues tonight.

DraftKings DFS Centers

Marc Gasol – C, at UTA ($7,600)

Marc Gasol has been playing unbelievably well recently, and there’s no reason to believe he is going to slow down tonight. He has been a huge part of the Grizzlies offense, as he has been scoring around 30 points per game over the last 10 days. He also has been adding peripheral stats on a nightly basis, and his price dropped tonight. He gets a terrible matchup against the Jazz, which adds a bit of risk to Gasol, but he’s a great option tonight.

Jusuf Nurkic – C, at PHO ($4,300)

Nikola Jokic has been ruled out for the Nuggets next two games, which means Jusuf Nurkic and Darrell Arthur will likely pick up his minutes at center. Either of those two could start, but it would be surprising if Nurkic did not get the nod tonight. He’s a player that can score fantasy points in a hurry, and he has been a great option when given the playing time this season. He does struggle with fouls, though. He comes with a low price tag, and he gets a great matchup against the Suns. Nurkic and Arthur are both useable tonight, but the one that draws the start is the better option.
