DraftKings CFB DFS Lineup Picks: Daily Fantasy College Football (9/11/21 Early)

Mike Marteny's DraftKings daily fantasy college football lineup picks for the main slate on 9/11/21. His CFB DFS lineup picks and DFS sleepers will help you win big.

Our big slate on Saturday has 12 games that DraftKings picked out for us. All are FBS vs. FBS teams, but considering Tulsa and South Florida were horrible in their openers, we've had some better FCS teams on these slates so far. That's not to say there's lack of talent or a lack of good teams. The Pitt/Tennessee tilt promises to be interesting. An improved East Carolina team hosting South Carolina promises to be fun. And of course, we have the Ducks heading to the Horseshoe to cap off the noon eastern kickoffs.

Both Rutgers and Syracuse looked much-improved in their first games. Toledo has no chance against Touchdown Jesus. Same for the Blazers in Athens, but we could still have decent DFS options in those. Cal heads to Fort Worth, y'all. A&M heads to Boulder for the first time in a decade. Ball State and that high-flying offense get to try their luck at Penn State. We close out the early slate with the battle for the CyHawk trophy. This is going to be great!

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for DraftKings on 9/11/21. I’ll be providing multiple player suggestions for players at quarterback, running back, and wide receiver, aiming to highlight one option apiece at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CFB DFS Quarterbacks

C.J. Stroud, Ohio State ($8,600)

Stroud passed his first test against Minnesota on Thursday night last week. Now he gets an Oregon defense that was burned a few times by Fresno and may not have Kayvon Thibodeaux, at least at full strength. All of the concerns that people had for the Buckeyes fell by the wayside against a good Minnesota team. They have their replacements for Trey Sermon and Justin Fields. This is the biggest non-conference tilt in Columbus since 2017 against Oklahoma (Ohio still  hates Baker Mayfield, even if he plays for the Browns). I expect Ohio State to come out swinging and put up some big numbers.

Holton Ahlers, East Carolina ($7,100)

Ahlers threw 40 passes in the opener against a tough Appalachian State defense with moderate success. He was able to keep the Pirates close throughout most of the game. He could do the same against South Carolina. The fans in Greenville are going to be a raucous bunch with a SEC school coming up there. The number of pass attempts should help pay this off for Ahlers, and he is one of the few quarterbacks that isn't in a timeshare in the middle tier. I want the sure reps at this point in the season.

Noah Vedral, Rutgers ($6,700)

Vedral will never be a prolific passer, but his rushing ability at this price can truly be a gift. He didn't need to do much against Temple, so it was disappointing to see the lackluster completion percentage. However, the Orange struggled a bit with the mobile quarterbacks of Ohio. There is value in the rushing ability of Vedral here. We just have to hope he doesn't hurt us too much through the air. I expect some improvement from the first game and the price is still low enough to take a chance.

Also consider: Jack Coan, Notre Dame ($8,900); Joe Milton III, Tennessee ($8,000); Shane Illingworth, Oklahoma State ($7,400); Drew Plitt, Ball State ($6,100)

DraftKings CFB DFS Running Backs

Zamir White, Georgia ($7,700)

Georgia got almost nothing going against a tough Clemson defense last week, White was the only bright spot, picking up 74 yards on 13 carries. If he can do that against Clemson, he should have a field day against UAB. That's what I'm banking on. A guy like White can do a whole lot of damage on 15 touches against a team like UAB if that's what the Bulldogs limit him to again.

Sean Tucker, Syracuse ($6,800)

The Orange still don't really want to lean on Tommy DeVito unless they have to. Tucker carried the ball 25 times against Ohio and pounded them into submission. If you look at the top priced backs, only Breece Hall is guaranteed as many carries as Tucker. The Rutgers defense looks improved, but it's easy to look improved against a team like Temple. We know what the Syracuse game plan is. We're going to see a lot of Sean Tucker in this one.

Malik Davis, Florida ($5,600)

The Gators are going to run the ball a lot, but with two quarterbacks hogging the carries like Jones and Richardson did and neither being good passers, that's really going to cut into Davis's carries. So will Dameon Pierce. We're basically using him for touchdowns. There will be plenty of both carries and touchdowns to go around against the Bulls, and Davis is significantly cheaper than both quarterbacks and Pierce. He's the one piece of the Florida offense that I can't live without. The only way to get most of the production against USF is to run both quarterbacks with Pierce and Davis, but that feels counter-productive.

Jaylen Warren, Oklahoma State ($4,100)

Neither Cowboys back was very good against Missouri State, but LD Brown was downright awful. Oklahoma State is built to run the ball. Warren was a very successful back for Utah State before transferring. Given his experience as a feature back and how explosive Brown was backing up Chuba Hubbard last year, it would make sense that the Cowboys would try to lean a little more on Warren. For this price, I don't mind taking this shot in a GPP.

Also consider: Breece Hall, Iowa State ($8,000); Kyren Williams, Notre Dame ($7,300); Deneric Prince, Tulsa ($6,200); Travis Dye, Oregon ($4,800)

DraftKings CFB DFS Wide Receivers

Chris Olave, Ohio State ($7,200)

It's huge for a young guy like Stroud to step into a lineup with two very accomplished receivers. Running back is still a committee, but it was apparent against Minnesota that Olave is Stroud's favorite target. Both Garrett Wilson and Olave are good plays here, but I want the explosiveness of Olave. They are going to need it against Oregon.

Tay Martin, Oklahoma State ($6,900)

The Washington State transfer looks like the next in a long line of good Cowboys receivers. Martin had six catches for 107 yards in an opening game where the Cowboys offense struggled. Spencer Sanders could be back under center this weekend. If he is, we could see an even better game out of Martin, at least while the run game continues to struggle.

Johnny Johnson III, Oregon ($5,100)

Johnson is the receiver for Oregon that can really stretch the field. They are going to need that in their offense against Ohio State. Johnson is a threat to get to the end zone every time he touches the ball. I love that kind of potential at a depressed price, even against a defense like this.

Shocky Jacques-Louis, Pittsburgh ($4,000)

If you want a reason to use him besides name alone, Pitt got him the ball four times in the running game and he also caught three passes. That kind of diversity in the offense could come in handy against a Tennessee team that can cover Jordan Addison. Kenny Pickett is not afraid to throw the ball to different receivers if his first options are covered. Shocky is an interesting GPP play here.

Also consider: Ainias Smith, Texas A&M ($7,600); Justin Hall, Ball State ($6,300); Kevin Austin Jr., Notre Dame ($5,800); Charlie Kolar, Iowa State ($4,600); JD Spielman, TCU ($3,000)
