On Saturday's UFC Paris main card opener, William Gomis returned to the win column by defeating UFC debutant Robert Ruchala via unanimous decision. The first round was extremely close and could have gone either way, and Ruchala won the second round by controlling Gomis on the ground for most of the round. Gomis started to turn it up in the final five minutes, while Ruchala was getting tired and in the end, it was Gomis who walked out victorious as the judges scored the fight 30-27, 29-28, 29-28. In 15 minutes of action, Gomis landed two takedowns and 49 significant strikes. With the win, Gomis has improved to 15-3 as a pro and is now 5-1 in the UFC.--Alen Kurbasic
