BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 55% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Quarterback Deshaun Watson finally made his anticipated comeback on Sunday leading the Cleveland Browns to a 27-14 win away from home at Houston. That's cool, but he was hella rusty and everybody paid for that: just 22 attempts and 12 completions is what lowered every pass-catcher upside last weekend.
Donovan Peoples-Jones and Amari Cooper were the only two players catching more than one target for Cleveland with the former getting the best overall outcome. DPJ went a perfect 3-of-3 on receptions while racking up 44 receiving yards on the game against Houston. Cooper finished 4-of-9 for 40 yards getting the most looks but failing at capitalizing on those chances.
DPJ was never going to overtake Cooper in the pecking order, whether Watson was available or not, so nothing changed on that front. That said, DPJ has scored 118.9 PPR points (9.9) over 12 games to Cooper's 182.5 (15.4), although DPJ has seen 16 fewer targets through Week 13 (basically a two-game workload).
The only blemish on DPJ's stat lines is the lack of touchdowns, with just one over 45 targets compared to Cooper's 7 on 61. Even then, though, DPJ is a must-roster player in most leagues and a clear-cut starter in deeper formats at least on the WR3/Flex slot weekly.
Barring an outlier Week 12 in which DPJ finished with 3.6 PPR points (2-of-4 for 16 yards), the wideout has reached at least 9.0+ PPR points in all games from Week 4 averaging an even better 11.7 FPPG since then (12.7 if you remove that W12 outing).
