Deshaun Watson fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 1 (2024). Should you start or sit Deshaun Watson for fantasy football lineups?

POSITIONAL VALUE: Mid-range QB2
ANALYSIS: Watson and the Browns open the 2024 season with a home matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. Dallas’ defense was one of the tougher units in the league last year as they finished fifth in overall defensive DVOA and seventh in defensive passing DVOA.
It’s a tough opening draw for Watson and makes starting him a scary proposition. Even more so when you consider he’s only started 12 games the last three years.
However, despite his 2023 struggles, Watson showed he still has upside for fantasy football and delivered several QB1 performances. He still offers some Konami upside at the position and is a threat for boom games.

While he still has potential, Watson is an easy sit in standard single-quarterback leagues. He could return to a strong fantasy finish this year, but it’s better to sit him out of the gates. Watson should be started in two-quarterback or superflex leagues as a midrange QB2 with QB1 upside.
