Daily Fantasy WNBA Lineup Picks (7/28/17): WNBA DFS Advice for DraftKings

Dennis Clausen's top daily fantasy WNBA lineup picks for 7/28/17. Expert WNBA DFS advice, sleepers & player recommendations for DraftKings.

After a few days off, the WNBA is back on Friday night with six games on tap including Maya Moore and the Minnesota Lynx taking on the Atlanta Dream as well as the defending champs taking on the struggling San Antonio Stars.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy WNBA lineup picks for DraftKings on 7/28/17. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. All "fantasy points" and salary references are exclusive to the DraftKings scoring system. As always, check player statuses prior to lock time.

Follow me on Twitter and feel free to leave me a comment @Den_Clausen. Let's get started!

WNBA - DFS Guards for DraftKings

Diana Taurasi – G, Phoenix Mercury @ Chicago Sky ($9,800)

As long as Phoenix continues to be without Brittney Griner, Diana Taurasi should be in everyone’s lineup. Taurasi is hands down the biggest offensive threat for the Mercury and has been very productive since the injury to her fellow teammate. Taurasi has shouldered the offensive load and has taken at least 20 shots per contest over the last two games, including going 9-for-21 from behind the arch and 18-for-19 from the free throw line during that same span. Chicago gives up the second most points this season and seems to be cooling off a bit from their recent hot streak. Expect a good game from Taurasi so get her in your lineup while the getting is good before her price goes up on Sunday.

Brittney Sykes – G, Atlanta Dream vs Minnesota Lynx ($9,600)

To quote the great Gorilla Monsoon, everyone will be “going bananas” over Layshia Clarendon after her triple double against Phoenix on Tuesday. I don’t discourage putting her in your lineup but her price is getting too high for my tastes, especially against someone going up against Minnesota. I am normally nervous to recommend anyone going up against the Lynx but I am still in love with how well Brittney Sykes has been playing. She has hit at least 20 points in each of her last three games and doesn’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon. So if you want to save some cash and play Sykes over Clarendon, I don’t mind. If you can afford both of them, I’m cool with that too.

Sue Bird – G, Seattle Storm vs Dallas Wings ($7,400)

Assists, Assists, Assists. This is what will be happening to Dallas on Friday night. Dallas gives up the most assists per game and that is right up Bird’s Alley. She isn’t going to get you 40 fantasy points but she will do her part to help you win.

Kristi Toliver – G, Washington Mystics vs Connecticut Sun

Natasha Cloud is dealing with a foot injury which means the door will be open for Toliver to become even more involved. Toliver has seen a good chunk of playing time already and has been taking her fair share of shots as well. With the likes of Tierra Ruffin-Pratt struggling as of late, Toliver is averaging 37 fantasy points over the last two games. She should be a nice, lowed priced play on a night where plenty of high-priced names are featured.

Kayla McBride – G, San Antonio Stars vs Los Angeles Stars ($6,600)

Kayla McBride is only $6,600? Ok, I’ll take it. McBride was a little rusty in her first game back after missing the past few weeks (and all-star break) with an ankle injury but should be back to normal on Friday night. Los Angeles is struggling against shots from beyond the arch and if McBride is rust free, you’ll be getting a good return on your investment.

Monique Currie – Phoenix Mercury @ Chicago Sky ($5,200)

I’m not buying this Danielle Robinson hype because she had one good game recently so I’m going to stick with Monique Currie as a good value play. In the Mercury’s last game against Atlanta, Currie shot an inefficient 3-for-15. Behind Diana Taurasi, she is the second highest shot taker on the team since the absence of Brittney Griner. Robinson is a good player but is not worth the inflated price off of one good game. I’ll take my chances with Currie.

Other names to consider on Friday night: Cappie Pondexter - G, Chicago Sky vs Phoenix Mercury ($5,500), Kelsey Plum - G, San Antonio Stars vs Los Angeles Sparks ($5,400), Ivory Latta - G, Washington Mystics vs Connecticut Sun ($4,900).

WNBA - DFS Forwards for DraftKings

Breanna Stewart - F, Seattle Storm vs Dallas Wings ($12,800)

Do I really need to explain this one? Dallas gives up a bunch of points, cannot play efficient defense and Breanna Stewart is very, very, very good. I won't get fancy by putting in a bunch of stats. If you want to win on Friday night, make her the focal point of your lineup.

Tina Charles - F, New York Liberty @ Indiana Fever ($12,700)

If you can figure out a way to stack Breanna Stewart and Tina Charles, go ahead. Just like Dallas, Indiana also gives up a lot of points per game. Charles is a monster and is going to go absolutely crazy against the Fever. She will likely hit 40 fantasy points and even has a shot at 50, something she has done in her last two games.

Nneka Ogwumike - F, Los Angeles Sparks @ San Antonio Stars ($12,600)

I am a little hesitant here because of the chance of a blowout which would mean that Ogwumike will sit more than usual. However, as Chicago proved a few weeks back, upsets can happen. However, I'd rather spend my cash on the two players mentioned before Ogwumike but she isn't a bad play either, especially against a team that is struggling like the Stars. If you want to pair her up with Candace Parker, I have no issues with that either.

Maya Moore - F, Minnesota Lynx @ Atlanta Dream ($11,700)

Maya Moore has been absolutely dominant as of late. She is crushing it from behind the arch, shooting 55 percent over the last two games (including the all-star game). There really isn't much else to say about her play as of late other than the fact that she has been playing beautifully on the offensive end and won't hurt you if you choose to roster her on Friday night.

Crystal Langhorne - F, Seattle Storm vs Dallas Wings ($8,100)

One of the most consistent players this season has been Crystal Langhorne. She isn't going to blow anyone away on the offensive end but makes up for it on the glass. Over the past three games, Langhorne is averaging a little over eight boards per game. Dallas is fourth worst in the league in the department so look for Langhorne to be all over that.

Other names to consider on Friday night: Sylvia Fowles - F, Minnesota Lynx @ Atlanta Dream ($11,600), Jonquel Jones - F, Connecticut Sun @ Washington Mystics ($11,300), Elena Delle Donne - F, Washington Mystics vs Connecticut Sun ($11,000).
