Daily Fantasy Baseball Streamers - MLB Hitter, Pitcher Lineup Picks for Monday 5/17

Top daily fantasy baseball streamers and waiver wire adds for 5/17/21. Frank Ammirante identifies MLB hitters and starting pitchers to stream based on matchups.

Welcome to the another edition of our daily fantasy baseball streamers! Are you playing in leagues with daily moves and looking to beef up those rosters? We here at RotoBaller are there for you and all of your streaming needs.

Each day RotoBaller will provide you with some of the best streaming options to consider in both shallow and deep fantasy baseball daily leagues. Streaming hitters and pitchers to exploit matchups are important to help you win your league. You can also use these recommendations to help build your DFS lineups. This article will use rostered percentages and position eligibility from Yahoo! leagues.

Today we have an 9-game slate, giving us plenty of streamers to choose from.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

Hitter Streamers for 5/17 - Shallow Leagues

Kyle Schwarber (OF, LHB, WAS)42% Rostered

Matchup: at CHC RHP Adbert Alzolay

Schwarber is swinging a hot bat lately, going 12-for-40 (.300) with six runs, three homers, and nine RBI in his last 10 games. He's always in play against a righty when he's seeing the ball well. Schwarber goes up against Alzolay, who has allowed six home runs in 32 innings this season. Alzolay ranks in the 49th-percentile for xwOBA, so we could see some negative regression in this start.

Victor Robles (OF, RHB, WAS) 39% Rostered

Matchup: at CHC RHP Adbert Alzolay

Robles had a terrific weekend in Arizona, going 5-for-8 (.625) with two runs, four doubles, and two steals in three games. It's encouraging to see the extra-base hits because entering this series, Robles only had three for the season. Robles has seen his rostered percentage crash as fantasy players have grown tired of his lack of power and disappointing speed output, so he could be available on your waiver wire.

Robbie Grossman (OF, SHB, DET) 39% Rostered

Matchup: at SEA LHP Yusei Kikuchi

Grossman really needs to be rostered in all formats, as he's gone 16-for-44 (.364) with nine runs, two homers, 11 RBI, and three steals in his last 11 games. Grossman has walked eight times with eight strikeouts during that span. He has a tough matchup against Kikuchi, but he's done well against lefties, slashing .289/.391/.500 against them this season. Firmly entrenched as the Tigers' leadoff hitter, Grossman looks like a great stream.

Andrew Vaughn (1B/OF, RHB, CHW) - 37% Rostered

Matchup: at MIN LHP J.A. Happ

Vaughn is finally getting consistent playing time and we're starting to see why he was considered one of the best hitting prospects in baseball. Vaughn has gone 7-for-31 (.226) with seven runs, two homers, and seven RBI in his last 10 games. He's walked six times with eight strikeouts during that stretch, so you can tell he's starting to adjust to big-league pitching. Vaughn has slashed .304/.484/.609 against lefties this season.

Hitter Streamers for 5/17 - Deep Leagues

Clint Frazier (OF, RHB, NYY) 23% Rostered

Matchup: at TEX RHP Jordan Lyles

Frazier has been a massive disappointment this season, but he's turned it on a bit lately, going 4-for-19 (.211) with two runs and a homer in his last six games. Frazier is still walking at a high clip (15.3 BB%) and it's only a matter of time before the power binge arrives. He homered on Sunday, so perhaps this is the start of a hot streak. Frazier gets a good matchup against Lyles, who has put up an xwOBA in the 13th-percentile.

Jonathan India (2B/3B, RHB, CIN) 14% Rostered

Matchup: vs. SF RHP Logan Webb

India really enjoyed Coors Field, going 5-for-13 (.385) with four runs, two homers, five RBI, and one steal in four games. He comes back home to the bandbox that is Great American Ballpark to face Webb, who has been decent but is not a matchup to fear. Webb has allowed three or more runs in five of his seven starts this season. India has been streaky this season and right now he's swinging the bat well. Fire him up.

Mike Tauchman (OF, LHB, SF) 3% Rostered

Matchup: at CIN RHP Sonny Gray

Tauchman is starting to heat up now that he has everyday playing time with the Giants, hitting a homer with one steal and four walks in his last two games. He's become a fixture in the leadoff spot for San Fran and he'll be in a hitter-friendly environment at Great American. While Gray is a tough opponent, he's only averaged about five innings per start, so we can safely stream Tauchman.

Taylor Ward (OF, RHB, LAA) 1% Rostered

Matchup: vs. CLE LHP Sam Hentges

Ward has hit pretty well of late, going 7-for-29 (.241) with five runs, two homers, and five RBI in his last nine games. He's also walked three times during that span. Ward will hit towards the bottom of the lineup, but he has a good matchup against Hentges, who has walked six hitters in his last two starts (8 IP). Ward is slugging .455 against lefties this season, so he looks like a solid streamer here.

Pitcher Streamers for 5/17 - Shallow Leagues

Yusei Kikuchi (LHP, SEA) - 42% Rostered

Matchup: vs. DET

Kikuchi is still rostered in too few leagues, making him still in play as a streamer, even though he should not be available on waiver wires. He's really gotten hot lately, putting up a 2.69 ERA and 0.80 WHIP with four walks and 25 strikeouts in his last three starts, spanning 20.1 innings. Kikuchi is in a smash spot against a Tigers offense that has put up a .247 wOBA (30th) and 33.8 K% (30th) against lefties this season.

Pitcher Streamers for 5/17 - Deep Leagues

Casey Mize (RHP, DET) 19% Rostered

Matchup: at SEA

Mize has started to get back on track, posting a 3.00 ERA and 1.05 WHIP with nine walks and 13 strikeouts in his last three starts, spanning 18 innings. The Mariners have put up a .298 wOBA (T-22nd) and 25.2 K% (21st) against righties this season, so this is an exploitable matchup.
