Baker Mayfield's fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 11 (2023). Our advice on whether you should start or sit Baker Mayfield for fantasy lineups.
BALLER MOVE: Sit in 12+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: QB2
ANALYSIS: Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield has been a pleasant surprise this year. The veteran quarterback signed a one-year deal with the Buccaneers in the offseason to compete with Kyle Trask for the starting job. Even though he won the competition in training camp, many expected Mayfield to get benched at this point of the season.
Instead, he has played well. The veteran is the QB16, averaging 16.6 fantasy points per game, scoring 16 or more in all but two contests. Mayfield has completed 64.6% of his pass attempts for 2,143 yards and 14 touchdowns compared to five interceptions.
More importantly, the former Oklahoma star has played well lately. He is the QB8 over the past three weeks, averaging 260 passing yards, two touchdowns, and 19.6 fantasy points per game, scoring at least 18.3 in every contest. The former No. 1 overall pick has scored 18 or more fantasy points in 55.6% of the games this season, including three straight.
Unfortunately, Mayfield’s recent hot play might end on Sunday. The San Francisco 49ers have held quarterbacks to only 12.3 fantasy points per game, the third-fewest in the NFL. Quarterbacks have scored 10 or fewer fantasy points in over half the games against the 49ers this year.
