Matt Jones had a disappointing missed cut at The Sony Open after a record-setting performance at Kapalua. Jones set the record for 36-hole scoring in Maui, finishing in third place during the Tournament of Champions. Unfortunately, the Sony Open was a different story, as he missed the cut while losing strokes in every metric other than around the green. The Aussie does not have a great history at Torrey Pines, with his best finish placing him in 13th, but the 41-year-old is known as a streaky golfer, and it is tough to predict when the 74th-ranked player in the world might have a good tournament again.
