BALLER MOVE: Add in 2QB/SuperFlex Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 3% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Shout out Davis Mills because he is definitively the second-best quarterback of the 2021 draft class only behind the Patriots' Mac Jones. Cold world, folks, but it is what it is. Mills got his starting gig because of a large cumulus of circumstances, but he took the bull by the horns and never looked back. And the truth is that Mills is growing by the day and with Deshaun Watson getting traded through the next offseason everything is in place for Mills to finish this year and be Houston's QB1 once more in 2022.
Mills has started 8 of the 10 games he's played this season for Houston. His FP scores have ranged from minus-1.3 (yes, you read that right) in Week 4 to a season-high 24.7 one week later. Absolute madness, I know. Mills has alternated 20+ FP games with below-10 FP ones. It's a little bit frustrating because Mills has clearly shown a solid ceiling, but Mills has also sat at a rather low floor multiple times. Not that we can really blame the QB alone, as the receiving corps, well, let's say have sucked more than a bit.
Mills is coming off a lower-than-last-time-out 15.6 FP game against Jacksonville this past weekend (his prior tally reached 18 FP) but he was still good for 19-for-30 completions, 209 passing yards, and a positive 2 TD-to-1 INT ratio. Of course, Mills has to be seen as a risky play and a definitive flier, but nothing crazy when it comes to a secondary option in 2QB/Superflex formats when it comes to the fantasy postseason. Mills has been a QB2 in all of his last six games, and a top-15 player at the quarterback position in three of his last four (including two QB1 finishes).
