Hideki Matsuyama nearly won a medal at the Tokyo Olympics and then finished tied for second at the FedEx-St. Jude. After that, there was this one nagging issue. His putting and ball striking were a little errant late in each tournament. Too many opportunities were missed and then he cracked. He could not make enough birdies and missed the cut at the Wyndham. After that, Matsuyama struggled to make the top-50 in both The Northern Trust and BMW Championship. The weekends were ugly as Matsuyama could not keep up with the birdie torrents and could not even shoot in the 60's. Again, there are likely better upside options for this week's Tour Championship. --Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
