FanDuel MLB DFS Lineup Picks (7/19/21): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. - Fantasy Baseball

Mike Marteny highlights the top FanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks for 7/19/21, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

We have 11 games that start at a time acceptable to FanDuel, so that makes his a pretty large Monday slate. There's no Coors Field, but there are games in Cincinnati, Buffalo, and Arizona. There should still be plenty of homers to go around Maybe not 300 points worth like Friday night, but who knows?

The only real rain concern tonight is in Atlanta. If it does rain in Houston, they'll just close the roof. As of now, it looks like Atlanta will play unless one of those storms goes right over the stadium. There wont be any wind-aided homers tonight, but there is still some nice, humid weather in Atlanta, Houston, and Buffalo, three of the better hitting spots even without weather aid.

I'll be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for the FanDuel main slate on 7/19/2021. Be sure to also check out all the MLB player news, including late scratches, and the projected and confirmed daily MLB lineups for each DFS slate. You can also check out today's DraftKings MLB DFS lineup picks, and read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports too. Let's get to it!

FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Cash Game/GPP Anchor Play:

Shohei Ohtani – LAA at OAK ($10,200)

Call me superstitious, but I don't trust Darvish after he got lit up by the Nationals and just had a bout with a sore hip. On principle, I don't use pitchers against the Dodgers, so we wind up with Ohtani. Kyle Gibson had his worst start of the season against this same Tigers team right before the break. Ohtani sometimes gets liberal with walks, but he has the best strikeout potential on the slate and gets a very nice park upgrade. He's the most acceptable risk on a slate full of risky options.

Potential Alternate Play

Zack Greinke – HOU vs. CLE ($8,600)

Yes, age seems to be catching up with Grienke, but he had arguably his best start of the season against this Cleveland team exactly two weeks ago. Greinke struck out eight and picked up the win en route to 42 FanDuel points in that one. The eight punchouts tied his best total of the season and the 42 FanDuel points were his third-highest total of the season and the best total in six weeks. There is a clear path for him to do it again since Cleveland still strikes out a lot.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Trey Mancini – 1B/OF, BAL at TB ($3,200)

Mancini has yet to go deep since he put on a show in the Home Run Derby a week ago. He did pick up three hits in Kansas City, so it's not like he's been a total fantasy bust either, but we're here for the homers. Mancini has hit three of them in his brief career against Ryan Yarbrough so far with two doubles and eight RBI in 20 at bats. This is the portion of BvP stats where we start paying attention. 20 at bats is where is becomes pattern and not luck.

Jed Lowrie – 2B/3B, OAK vs. LAA ($3,300)

Lowrie has managed to keep his scorching July going after the break. He is hitting .375 with four homers, six runs scored, and 11 RBI in 11 games this month. He only had seven homers in the first three months of the season combined. This is especially peculiar since July has been by far the worst month of Lowrie's career. I care more about the past 14 days than the last 14 years though, so I'll ride the hot bat.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. – 1B/3B, TOR vs. BOS at Buffalo ($4,500)

Vlad is at it again. He has three homers in three games since the All Star break in Sahlen Field. That shouldn't come as much of a surprise. Vlad likes Buffalo. Almost as much as Dunedin. He is hitting .333 with nine homers and 19 RBI in 21 games at Sahlen Field this year. The fun is over in a couple of weeks, but we can still take advantage here. Nick Pivetta has allowed four homers in two starts against the Jays this year (not to mention ten runs in ten innings). Vlad has one of those. Don't be shocked if he does it again.

David Fletcher – 2B/SS, LAA at OAK ($3,100)

Fletcher's slow start to the season has been completely eradicated. He has a 26-game hitting streak, which is the second-longest in franchise history to Garret Anderson's 28-gamer in 1998. Fletcher is hitting .446 with two homers and a staggering 14 RBI already in July. He has also scored ten runs in 12 games. Fletcher is feeling it right now and doing a lot of everything. He's sure points at what is still a reasonable price.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Mookie Betts – OF, LAD vs. SF ($4,400)

Man, Kevin Gausman just can't get away from this guy. Gausman was an Oriole when Mookie came up on Boston. They both wound up in the N.L West together last season. Next time, Gausman should maybe try and find himself in a situation where he doesn't face Mookie multiple times a year. Betts is hitting .326 in 46 at bats against Gausman with three homers, three steals, ten runs scored, and seven RBI. Considering how hot Mookie has been since the break, I feel good running him at Gausman here.

Adam Duvall – OF, MIA at WAS ($3,100)

Jon Lester has allowed at least five runs in four straight starts. He has been the victim of some shoddy defense behind him, but that's still a lot of runners crossing the plate. We've got some favorable conditions in D.C. and Jon Lester on the mound has to be considered part of that equation. Duvall slugged his 20th homer of the season yesterday. His homer total might reach legal drinking age tonight.

J.D. Davis – 3B/OF, NYM at CIN ($2,800)

The most favorable hitting conditions are in Cincinnati. Davis hit two of his four homers over the weekend and is picking up where he left off when he went down in April. The .388 average on the season isn't sustainable, but we'll ride the hot streak while it lasts. The power is legit and the Mets are starting to get healthy. Davis feels underpriced here.
