FanDuel NBA DFS Lineup Picks (2/28/21): Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice

Dennis Clausen highlights the top FanDuel NBA DFS lineup picks for 2/28/21, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

As the weekend comes to an unfortunate end, FanDuel has eight contests listed under its “Main Slate.” With the All-Star break right around the corner, fantasy managers will only have a few more days to partake in NBA DFS festivities before getting a one-week pause.

On Saturday night, we were treated to some impressive performances. Joel Embiid picked up the slack caused by the absence of Tobias Harris, finishing with a high-end, 42-point double-double in the loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Russell Westbrook also produced a vintage performance by racking up a 19-point, 14-rebound, and 12-assist triple-double against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Out West, Nikola Jokic had a triple-double of his own, while DeMar DeRozan returned to lead the Spurs past the Pelicans.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel on 2/28/21. These DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks on FanDuel. You can also check out DraftKings lineup picks and injury news before lineups lock. Good luck, RotoBallers. Feel free to follow me on Twitter @DennisMClausen and say hello. FanDuel DFS Guards

De'Aaron Fox, PG - vs. CHA ($8,000)

This was the space that was originally reserved for a Kyle Lowry and Fred Vanvleet mention. However, after the game was postponed due to COVID-19 concerns, we will pivot toward Fox, a player capable of producing just as efficiently.

With the Hornets/Kings game anticipated to be one of the highest-scoring affairs on the slate, you can expect plenty of fantasy production to go around, especially when you consider the pace at which these two clubs play. Tyrese Haliburton is also not in the lineup due to a calf injury, so Fox should take on more minutes than usual, which of course, is always a good thing.

Eric Gordon, SG - vs. MEM ($5,300)

Gordon will get some extra opportunities with Victor Oladipo out of the lineup against the Grizzlies. After John Wall, the veteran is likely the No. 2 scoring option for the rebuilding rockets, and if he can get it going, especially from deep, he can make some noise.

The 32-year-old is averaging just over 18 points per game in 2021, his best since the 2011-2012 campaign. Of course, his shooting numbers are rocky at times, but when it comes to taking risks in those big GPP contests, this may be one worth taking. Keep him in mind, primarily for those running low on DFS cash.

Also Consider: Russell Westbrook ($9,400), LaMelo Ball ($7,600), Chris Paul ($7,500), Ja Morant ($7,100), Kemba Walker ($6,800), Derrick Rose ($5,700), Goran Dragic ($5,500), Sterling Brown ($3,900), Jaylen Nowell ($3,700), Tyler Herro ($6,000), Buddy Hield ($5,600), Dillon Brooks ($5,200), Cody Martin ($3,600)

FanDuel DFS Forwards

Jerami Grant, PF - vs. NYK ($7,400)

After nearly a decade of service, Grant is having an All-Star caliber season as a member of the Detroit Pistons. He is averaging almost 24 points per game and has logged plenty of minutes to boot.

The former Syracuse Orange got the night off on Wednesday to rest but received nearly 40 minutes of work against Sacramento on Friday night. He had 30 points and seven boards in that one, and with the Pistons down a handful of options on the offensive end, he may likely be the top producer for the club against the New York Knicks.

Harrison Barnes, SF - vs. CHA ($6,500)

Barnes missed some time after dealing with a strained left foot but has been heavily involved since his return. He has recorded at least 35 minutes in each of his previous three games and is averaging just over 21 points during that same span.

With Tyrese Haliburton and Hassan Whiteside both out on Sunday evening, Barnes should continue to see the floor plenty against the Hornets. His DFS asking price isn’t as generous as it was a few days ago, but his ceiling is still just as high.

Also Consider: R.J. Barrett ($5,200), Duncan Robinson ($4,800), Danuel House ($4,500), Jayson Tatum ($9,400), Julius Randle ($8,900), Bam Adebayo ($8,700), P.J. Washington ($6,000), Nerlens Noel ($5,300), Miles Bridges ($5,200), Daniel Theis ($4,900)

FanDuel DFS Centers

Jonas Valanciunas, C - @ HOU ($7,400)

As Valanciunas’ quality of play increases from game-to-game, so will his DFS asking price. Although he could miss hitting value due to his elevated cost, he still has the potential to do some damage against an undersized Rockets team that is without Christian Wood, in addition to recently releasing DeMarcus Cousins.

Nonetheless, regardless of who the Grizzlies are up against, the veteran has been a reliable fantasy producer for most of the year. He averaged nearly 40 fantasy points during the two-game series against the Los Angeles Clippers. While he usually doesn’t play a ton, at least compared to others at his position his fantasy point-per-minute average warrants a lineup consideration on Sunday night.

Also Consider: Deandre Ayton ($7,000), Richaun Holmes ($6,600), Kelly Olynyk ($4,400), Bismack Biyombo ($3,500)
