Jacob deGrom Remains In National League Cy Young Race
Jacob deGrom was solid on Monday against the Tampa Bay Rays, striking out 14 hitters over seven innings of work in the Mets 2-1 loss. deGrom, pitching for the first time since having to leave a start last Wednesday after only two innings pitched with a right hamstring spasm, was sharp. He allowed only four hits, two walks and two earned runs. deGrom (4-2) now boasts a 2.14 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 94:16 K:BB in 63 innings pitched on the season. deGrom will make one more start on Saturday against the Nationals as he makes a final push to win an unprecedented third straight National League Cy Young award. He is a lockdown fantasy ace and should of course be active for that final start against Washington in all formats.
