FanDuel, DraftKings NHL DFS Lineup Picks (9/14/20): Daily Fantasy Hockey Advice

Andrew Lennox's top NHL DFS lineup picks on FanDuel, DraftKings for 9/2/20. Expert daily fantasy hockey advice, sleepers & player recommendations.

The Dallas Stars are on the verge of advancing to their first Stanley Cup Final in twenty years! Dallas leads Vegas 3-1 going into Game 5. Western Conference Finals continue tonight, beginning at 8 PM EST.

Remember, an over/under of 6 dictates offense when looking around for plays, but an over/under of 5 or sometimes 5.5 tilts towards the goalies. With being a low scoring series so far, some tough DFS lineup choices will have to be made.

This article will provide you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel for September 14, 2020. The picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. For today, DraftKings and  FanDuel will be offering Showdown contests only. Before picking for Showdown Captain Mode contests, it is important to note, the Captain in DraftKings and Fanduel is a crucial pick to add to a roster since the player you draft will earn 1.5x the standard fantasy point value for each statistic. DraftKings Participants can learn more about the rules for NHL Showdown Captain Mode through the following link www.draftkings.com/help/rules/3/127.

FanDuel provides a somewhat similar format where a participant would select a captain and four utility players under a $55,000 salary cap. Goaltenders are not available to be chosen under this FanDuel format. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @awlenn. Let's go!!

DFS Forwards to Consider

Jamie Benn - LW, VGK vs. DAL (FD - $15,500, DK - $12,000)

Not too long ago, Stars owner Tom Gaglardi and team President Jim Lites called out Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn for lack of production. As Seguin continues to struggle offensively, Stars captain Jamie Benns's play has trended in a positive direction through the postseason. In-Game 4, Been potted a power-play goal with four shots on goal against Vegas. In the Stars last five-games, the Victoria, British Columbia native is averaging a point a game with two goals and three assists.  In that five-game span, Benn has peppered Vegas netminders with 14 shots on goal.

William Karlsson- C, VGK vs. DAL (FD - $11,000, DK - $12,300)

As Max Pacioretty and Mark Stones offensive production has slowed down for Vegas, Center William Karlsson will need to step up in tonight's Game 5. Karlsson has been averaging 9.3 FPPG throughout the postseason. In-game 3 against Dallas, Karlsson had an assist, three shots on goal, and three hits. Karlsson will play both on the Knights power-play and penalty kill. He has notched a goal on the power-play and scored another on the teams' penalty kill.

Others To Consider

Max Pacioretty needs to get on the scoresheet for Vegas in Game 5. Pacioretty hasn't produced much offensively for Vegas in this postseason but did have an excellent regular season.

Alexander Radulov may be an option as a flex roster spot for Showdown contestants. The Russian winger continues to add points to his playoff total as he tallied a power-play assist in Game 4 against Vegas.

For DFS Showdown players, here are some players to consider, Tyler Seguin, Jonathan Marchessault, Joe Pavelski, Reilly Smith, Alex Tuch, Denis Gurianov

DFS Defenders to Consider

Miro Heiskanen - D, VGK vs. DAL (FD - $9,000 DK - $11,400)

If you decide on a defenseman for a flex/utility spot for Showdown play, Miro Heiskanen will fit in well on DFS lineups. Heiskanen has a total of 28.1 FPTS  in the Star's last five games. He didn't have a very productive Game 4 but in Game 3 Heiskanen recorded an assist and had seven hits versus the Golden Knights. The Finnish born defenseman has been consistent on the blueline for Dallas throughout the playoffs.

Other choices for Tuesday Showdown may include Nate Schmidt, Shea Theodore, John Klingberg.

DFS Goalie to Consider

Anton Khudobin G, VGK vs. DAL (DK- $10,600)

Let's face it, Dallas would not be one win away from advancing to the Stanley Cup Final without the stellar play of goaltender Anton Khudobin. Khoduboin has stood on his head throughout the playoffs as he allowed just one goal on 33 shots in a Game 4 victory over Vegas.  He now has a record of 11 wins and just six losses in the playoffs. If a DraftKings participant decides to take a goalie, Khudobin makes for a cheaper option at his salary.
