FanDuel, DraftKings CFB DFS Picks: Daily Fantasy College Football Advice for 10/31/19

Week 8 college football DFS lineups, sleepers and value picks for the early slate on FanDuel and DraftKings on October 31st. Target these NCAA players in CFB daily fantasy tournaments and cash games.

Boo! It was either me or this awful slate of games that was going to scare you, so it might as well be me. Happy Halloween to all CFB DFS fans and welcome to another lovely week of college football. We open things up this week with a Halloween night showdown between Baylor and West Virginia, who will play at the same time as Georgia Southern - Appalachian State. It's not the prettiest set of games with the most offense, but there are certainly a couple of spots to take advantage of.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for the main slate of games on FanDuel and DraftKings on 10/31/19. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

It's an extremely fun slate ahead of us, with more than enough offense to go around. I'll be breaking down the later slate in a different article, so make sure to keep an eye out for that as well. Let's dive into some of the top plays at each position. You can follow me on Twitter @VarneyDFS. I will be around all day to answer questions.

FanDuel, DraftKings DFS Quarterbacks

Charlie Brewer - Baylor - FanDuel $10,000 / DraftKings $7,800

With just two games on the slate, Brewer stands out as the top QB in all formats. He’s been over 25 fantasy points in five of the last six games and is just he’s and shoulders above anyone else at the position. West Virginia isn’t phenomenal against the pass and they’ve allowed 300+ yards four times so far this year. Brewer and Baylor are still on a mission and I don’t expect them to let West Virginia stand in the way. Brewer is the safest QB with by far the most upside.

Zac Thomas - Appalachian State - FanDuel $9,600 / DraftKings $7,100

While Brewer is certainly the top QB on the slate, Zac Thomas deserves consideration. He’s not the greatest passer, nor is this offense set up for him to be, but he has running upside and has been over 30 fantasy points in a similar match-up earlier in the year. Appalachian State tends to keep it on the ground with their running backs, but Taylor does have three rushing touchdowns in the last three games. Georgia Southern is a weaker defense and Appalachian State shouldn’t have an issue putting up close to 30 points. Brewer is the play, but Thomas a strong pivot.

Also Consider - Austin Kendall

FanDuel, DraftKings DFS Running Backs

Darrynton Evans - Appalachian State - FanDuel $9,400 / DraftKings $7,200

Darynton Evans is the focal point of this Appalachian State offense. He wasn’t needed much last week, but still saw 19 carries. He’ll get 20+ touches in this game and I’m willing to bet he finds the end zone. Appalachian State is a 17-point favorite and I think they end up running the ball close to 30 times, if not more. Evans has 623 yards through six games with nine touchdowns and consistently sees targets through the air. He’s my lock in cash games at running back.

JaMycal Hasty - Baylor - FanDuel $8,800 / DraftKings $6,500

With two healthy favorites on the board, we’ll be looking at their run games first. Teams with the lead tend to run the ball more and both Baylor and App. St. Put a precedent on establishing the run. JaMycal Hasty ran 16 times against Oklahoma State for 146 yards and two scores last game. He looked amazing and should be the guy to lead these backs from here on out. He caught another three balls for 66 yards. If you're expecting Baylor to win this game, it's hard to stay away from Hasty.

J.D. King - Georgia Southern - FanDuel $8,600 / DraftKings $5,500

It’s not going to be easy for Georgia Southern to move the ball in this game, Appalachian State has been solid on defense and Georgia Southern will likely be playing from behind. Still, J.D. King is getting the bulk of the carries for this team and he’s a super talented back. He’s cheaper than both Evans and Hasty and could potentially find the end zone. He’s certainly far from safe, but is the third running back I’m looking at.

Also Consider - Wesley Kennedy, John Lovett

FanDuel, DraftKings DFS Wide Receivers

Denzel Mims - Baylor - FanDuel $9,100 / DraftKings $6,900

Mims has struggled in back to back weeks after being one of the more consistent receivers in the nation through six weeks. I expect Brewer to hone back in on Mims and for him to see 8+ targets in this game. I also don’t think we see much ownership on him as he is expensive and has been bad. It’s not safe, but I have a feeling Mims gets back to his 100+ yard norm tonight.

Thomas Hennigan - Appalachian State - FanDuel $7,900 / DraftKings $5,700

Thomas Hennigan has slowly gotten himself more involved in the offense and he’s now caught a touchdown in each of the last two games. If we like Zac Taylor at QB, Hennigan is his number one option and he’s seen seven targets in back to back weeks. If you’re looking for another option in this passing game, Malik Williams is the only guy who sees consistent targets.

Sam James - West Virginia - FanDuel $7,600 / DraftKings $5,300

While the Baylor defense is tough, West Virginia should be able to get their receivers some yards if they’re playing from behind all game. I say go with the cheaper of the two, as Sam James and T.J. Simmons both see plenty of targets. James is the smaller of these two and Simmons is more of a red-zone target. This is a pretty miserable set of games for receiver and we’re really digging at this point.

Also Consider - R.J. Sneed, Malik Williams, Josh Fleeks, Jalen Virgil
