Friday’s game between the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim was a tight, tense, low-scoring affair in the Bronx. On the mound for the home club was team ace Luis Severino, who carries the sixth-lowest ERA in the American League and is tied for the most wins. While he didn't earn another one the evening, his performance was another in which he wasn’t at his best but was still significantly good. The 24-year-old walked four, struck out five and allowed just one run on four hits across six innings of work. With 99 pitches under his belt, manager Aaron Boone opted not to have him pitch the seventh, where the game was eventually decided.--RDelgado
