That game was ridiculous. Not really much more you can ask for in terms of entertainment, suspense and the like. We can only hope the hoops action tonight is half as exciting. On deck at 7pm for the Main slate we have a seven game slate with a decent spread of games. It is certainly a slate fairly devoid of star power, marked by the fact that there are only two five-digit salary players to spend up on - Anthony Davis and Andre Drummond. Nikola Jokic falls just a $100 short, but you get the point - it's likely a night a fair balanced lineup can take down a GPP. Another way to approach it could be to find a game or two you love, stack those and hope that it's the offensive outburst game of the night.

As of this writing, there isn't much Vegas data. A bit if a Super Bowl delay, perhaps. Or we could just be waiting on injury and start/sit news, as is customary in the NBA these days. As for team point projections, the best three (and I use the term best lightly) are the Clippers (109), Pacers (107) and Pistons (106). None of these teams are on the back-end of a back-to-back, and are good places to find upside relative to the rest of the Monday night slate.

FanDuel DFS Guards

Goran Dragic - PG, vs ORL ($7,000)

Dragic, normally a very non-frustrating cash game performer, has been up and down quite a bit lately. His most recent performance was one of his best point-per-dollar performances yet, pouring in 53 FanDuel points - good for +24 over his price implied value. I am thinking he has a good chance to stay at the high point of this roller coaster he's on, seeing as the matchup is a cakewalk from a DVP and defensive efficiency standpoint (30th and 29th against point guards, respectively) and Goran's minutes are reliable, playing in over 30 minutes in eight of his last 10 games. This is a pace-up matchup for he and his Heat teammates as well, and the extra possessions are very valuable for a guy that is ending the possession with the ball in his hands nearly 30% of the time. If Hassan Whiteside is out, I actually like Dragic's ceiling a bit more, as he gets slight bumps in Usage rate and fantasy point totals. His teammate, Tyler Johnson, appears to be a good value here as the matchup is just as juicy for him - but I do worry that his lingering shoulder issue is the reasons his Usage rate percentage has dropped. That drop really caps his ceiling, which is disappointing because the price and opponent are attractive.

Also Consider: Damian Lillard - PG, at DET ($8,100); De'Aaron Fox - PG, vs CHI ($5,800)

Bradley Beal - SG, vs IND ($8,400)

Let's get the negative out of the way and the right to all the positives - he may face the defense of Victor Oladipo tonight. Tough defense certainly, but it doesn't outweigh all the things Beal has going for him tonight. Since Wall has been in street clothes, Beal has taken his offensive facilitator game to the next level. He's involved so much more in making the extra pass and finding the open man. His touches, assists and potential assists number have all shot up, and he's producing some big time fantasy numbers. Curiously, his price came down after a pretty good performance against the Magic in which he outperformed his salary based expectations (+4) in a game the Wizards blew out the Magic (and therefore wasn't needed much in the fourth quarter). Additionally, this matchup could be one of the fastest of the night, the spread of the game is just two points in Vegas, and the over/under is the highest (213) on the board at the moment.

Also Consider: Zach LaVine - SG, at SAC ($7,400); Gary Harris - SG, vs CHA ($6,400)

 

FanDuel DFS Forwards

Bobby Portis - PF, at SAC ($5,800)

We get a pretty under-priced Portis tonight all thanks to travel troubles for one Lauri Markkanen. Portis has been playing very well of late, crushing value in four of his last five games, and yet his price only crept up $200 from the last time he took the floor. Portis' one worry is always foul trouble, but if he stays out of it, he should get some extended run tonight. As a player who averages 1.11 FanDuel points per minute, that's pretty exciting news. We all know he's never afraid to look for his shot either, as the big man hasn't posted a Usage rate percentage under 24% since January 15th. That screams upside, especially against a terrible defensive team like the Sarcramento Kings. They're terrible in all facets, but I'll highlight the Portis matchup - they rank 23rd in DVP against power forwards and 24th in defensive efficiency.

Kelly Olynyk - PF, vs ORL ($5,100)

Even with a little bit of a price hike, I like taking a shot on Olynyk in tournaments tonight. Hassan Whiteside has been sidelined with a potential trade looming, but it's also because the Miami coaching staff wants to let Olynyk and Bam Adebayo get more run at the five spot. With an already poor defense and the length of Aaron Gordon sidelined, Olynyk could have an easier way around the paint this evening. In his past five games, Olynyk has shown increases of 32% and 25% over his season Usage rate and season fantasy points per game marks, respectively.

Also Consider: Ed Davis - PF, at DET ($4,000); James Johnson - PF, vs ORL ($5,300)

 

FanDuel DFS Centers

Rudy Gobert - C, at NOP ($7,300)

Gobert has been giving pretty steady fantasy production since his return to the Jazz lineup, but he has been over-priced a few times as well, which make some of the performances look underwhelming from a DFS perspective. Tonight, the price has crept back down to a level I feel much more comfortable rostering him in, and the matchup against a soft defensive team that plays fast could lead to plenty more shot blocking opportunities. He's always been a monster in that department, and he's recorded eight swats in the Jazz' past two games. On the flip side of this, the matchup against Gobert could scare off some from throwing Anthony Davis on their roster - so I do like him in tournaments for that leverage.

Also Consider: Robin Lopez - C, at SAC ($4,400)
