FanDuel NBA DFS Lineup Picks (1/30/18): Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice

We've got a heavier Tuesday slate than usual and there shouldn't be any difficulty finding value between injuries and with both the Pistons and Clippers in action after their blockbuster deal on Monday evening. Assuming none of those players are active, there will be value to be had all over the place.

There are also a ton of studs to choose from on tonight's slate, but my favorite building blocks at time of publishing are Russell Westbrook and LeBron James against the aforementioned likely depleted Pistons wing rotation.

Below you will find our daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel on 1/30/18. These DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options, to lower-priced players and value picks on FanDuel.

FanDuel DFS Guards

Kyle Lowry PG - vs. MIN ($7,700)

Lowry isn’t consistently returning value even with a fairly steep price drop since December, leaving him mostly as a matchup play at this point. Tonight presents such an opportunity, however, as the Wolves have allowed Stephen Curry, Damian Lillard, and Dennis Schroeder to all post strong scoring nights against them of late. Lowry is best used as a tournament play as he had not had a strong recent history of providing value, but his price is low enough where I'm comfortable rolling the dice.

Dejounte Murray PG - vs. DEN ($6,300)

Murray stands out as an obvious cash game play thanks to his manageable price and recently established floor of about 30 FD points. However, he also possesses some sneaky tournament upside as he largely reached those point totals without block or steal output. While blocks are less likely to come about, his steal numbers indicate that he could see an uptick in that area. With the Nuggets on the back end of a back-to-back and being one of the more turnover prone teams in the league, Murray possesses some upside even if he best fits as a cash game play.

Buddy Hield SG - @NO ($5,900)

Hield let down everyone who rostered him in both season long and DFS formats on Sunday against the Spurs, failing to record a point and posting only two assists. However, he will have a matchup to take advantage of against the Pelicans who have gotten torched by opposing shooting guards all season. That has only increased of late, as they have allowed opposing shooting guards 64.4 FD points over the past five games. That should allow Hield to get back to a solid cash game play as he had been on a strong run of production prior to his dud on Sunday.

Eric Gordon SG - vs. ORL ($5,400)

When Gordon gets hot, he is a viable cash game play at this price with the Rockets rotation fully intact. However, we already know that Trevor Ariza will not be available and that Chris Paul may also be held out of Tuesday’s action against the Magic. If both are out, Gordon will become a chalky play and an obvious value. If Paul does play, Gordon is still a worthy tournament consideration as roughly 10 shots will open up with Ariza’s absence alone.

FanDuel DFS Forwards

DeMarre Carroll SF - @NY ($5,500)

With Caris LeVert and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson already ruled out for this matchup, DeMarre Carroll should have his minutes and shot attempts locked in for Tuesday. While there are other punt plays on the Nets  that will work on tonight’s slate (hello, Jahlil Okafor), Carroll is the safe option to lock in for cash games but also with enough upside to play in tournaments as well. Since returning to action from injury on January 12, in nine games, Carroll has remained around this price point and has returned 6X value or greater five times and returned less than 4X value just once.

Reggie Bullock SF - vs. CLE ($3,800)

Just about any Pistons player is in play for tonight’s game given the likelihood that the team will play shorthanded after their blockbuster and their matchup against the nonexistent Cavs defense. Bullock should see big minutes now that Avery Bradley was shipped to the Clippers and will inevitably see a price rise in the future.  That may take away from his viability in the future, but for now, he should he should be a lock to put up 6X to 7X value.

Taj Gibson PF - @TOR ($5,400)

Gibson is one of the mid-priced power forwards who is so easy to fall into given his price and relative stability. Tuesday will likely be another one of those days for me as the Raptors have been fairly susceptible to opposing power forwards of late, allowing 52.7 FD points to them over the last five games. If you aren’t paying either Anthony Davis or LaMarcus Aldridge (both of which are very viable) Gibson is a mid-priced option to turn to.

Montrezl Harrell PF - vs. POR ($4,100)

Assuming the convoy of Pistons doesn’t make it to LA in time to suit up for this game, Harrell should see minutes in the absence of Blake Griffin. In the absence of Griffin or DeAndre Jordan this season, he has shown the ability to provide DFS value. That’ll be especially true due to his price on Tuesday, as he has hit prices as high as 6K in prior instances of missing pieces in the Clippers bigs rotation. Make sure that the Clippers recent acquisitions aren’t available for tonight’s game prior to locking Harrell in, but assuming they aren’t he is a strong play in all contests due to his depressed minutes.

FanDuel DFS Centers

Rudy Gobert C - vs. GSW ($8,200)

Rudy Gobert is rounding into form after returning from another injury. His price has risen with that improved performance but he is worth a look tonight as a pivot away from Andre Drummond. The Warriors have been vulnerable against centers throughout the season, and Gobert posted strong season long numbers against them last season against a very similar looking team. There isn’t a ton of upside with his price, but at $2,300 less than Drummond, Gobert is one of my favorite center plays of the night.
