DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks (1/20/17): NBA DFS Advice

Does anyone else feel like the NBA All Star starters are a joke? Russell Westbrook and arguably Joel Embiid were snubbed, while players like Stephen Curry, DeMar DeRozan, and Kyrie Irving are starting. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against those players, but there were certainly guys much more deserving this season.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 1/20/17. The DFS lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays on DraftKings. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @BalesSJustin.

DraftKings DFS Guards

James Harden – PG/SG, vs GS ($12,200)

Harden comes with an unbelievable price tag, but he has been hitting value recently. He’s averaging 66.4 fantasy points per game over his last three games, and he gets an elite matchup against the Warriors tonight. The Warriors will be able to score plenty of points tonight, which means Harden is going to have to match them. He’s also a triple double threat on a nightly basis, and he’s an elite option if he comfortably fits into your lineups tonight.

Mike Conley – PG, vs SAC ($7,300)

Conley is one of the most underrated point guards in the NBA. He comes with a moderate price tag, even though he’s averaging 43.1 fantasy points per game over his last seven games. He’s a player that can contribute in multiple categories, and he’s a huge part of the Grizzlies offense. He gets a solid matchup against the Kings, who are currently dealing with injuries to their team. Conley is locked into big minutes for Memphis, and he’s a great option in all leagues tonight.

Deron Williams – PG, vs UTA ($5,300)

Williams is an extremely streaky player, and he has been heating up over his last few games. He has scored 32.5, 38, and 46.5 fantasy points in his last three games, and he was able to double double in two of those games. He saw his price tag drop tonight because of the matchup against the Jazz, but Williams has played well against them in two games this season. He does come with a bit of risk, but he’s too cheap to pass up, and he makes a solid option on the slate tonight.

DraftKings DFS Forwards

Joel Embiid – PF/C, vs POR ($8,400)

Embiid wasn’t voted as an All-Star starter, but he has been playing at an elite level this season. He is averaging 46.9 fantasy points in 27.3 minutes per game over the last 10 days, and he has scored at least 40 fantasy points in nine of his last 10 games. He gets a matchup against the Blazers tonight, and they will be looking to push the pace in this game. Embiid is the focal point of the Sixers offense, and he has been contributing in each of the five categories this season. Embiid’s price tag is finally nearing his production, but he can still be used in all leagues tonight.

Paul Millsap – PF, vs CHI ($7,500)

Millsap has had his ups and downs this season, but he’s finally beginning to play well with Dwight Howard. Millsap is averaging 42 fantasy points per game over his last 10 games, and he has been displaying quite a bit of versatility. He gets a solid matchup against the Bulls, who he dominated for 44.25 fantasy points in their first matchup this season. Millsap isn’t the safest player on the board, but he does come with a reasonable price tag. He may be best suited for tournaments tonight.

Anthony Tolliver – SF/PF, at MEM ($4,300)

Rudy Gay suffered a torn Achilles in the Kings last game, which will open minutes up at forward for the remainder of the season. Anthony Tolliver and Matt Barnes will likely pick up the majority of those minutes tonight, and I prefer Tolliver. He’s averaging 22.5 fantasy points in 31.1 minutes per game over the last 10 days. He has looked good when given the playing time, though, and he is a cheap option that comes with quite a bit of upside. He gets a tough matchup against the Grizzlies, but Tolliver makes an elite salary relief play tonight.

DraftKings DFS Centers

Rudy Gobert – C, at DAL ($7,100)

Gobert isn’t a huge part of the Jazz offense, which is a bit concerning, but he’s nearly a lock for double digit rebounds on a nightly basis. He also comes with elite blocking potential to go along with the ability to add a couple assists or steals each night. He is coming off two great games, scoring 51.25 fantasy points in each game. Tonight, he gets a matchup against the Mavs, who he is averaging 37 fantasy points per game against this season. Gobert comes with a fairly low price tag for his recent production, and he can be used in all leagues.

Mason Plumlee – C, at PHI ($5,200)

Plumlee has been fairly successful for the Blazers this season, but he doesn’t always play big minutes, which has been his kryptonite. He’s averaging 29.6 fantasy points in 27.5 minutes per game over the last 10 days, but he comes with quite a bit of risk because of his lack of consistent minutes. Over that span, he played more than 25 minutes in only half of his games, and he was able to hit value in each of those games. He wasn’t able to hit value in any game that he played less than 25 minutes in, though. He gets a good matchup against the Sixers tonight, but Plumlee is a tournament only option for his price tag.
