Much like with Asdrubal Cabrera, Neil Walker is hardly a sexy name to draft for your middle-infielder position. Unlike with Cabrera though, Walker is a bit of a known commodity and his production is more valuable. Even though he won't light the world on fire, you know what you're going to get out of Neil Walker. The batting average should be around .270 and he should be able to hit 15 homers and around 70 RBI.
The move to Citi Field will likely boost Walker's power numbers a bit, particularly when he bats from the left side of the plate. With Daniel Murphy gone, Walker has no competition for the job and he is projected to bat fifth in the Met lineup. Hitting behind Wright and Cespedes should present Walker with some prime RBI chances. His slot in the lineup will hinge on David Wright's health though, and if Wright misses time Walker could be bumped up to the two-hole. Regardless, he seems like a good bet to produce a line like the one mentioned above and that makes him a good second baseman to invest in.
