FanDuel DFS Guards

Russell Westbrook (at LAL, $10,600)

It is my civic duty to recommend Russell Westbrook every single time he plays the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers are an uptempo team that hates to play defense. Quite honestly, this game is going to get out of hand quick, but Westbrook could realistically hit value in only three quarters of action. If the Lakers do somehow keep this game close, Westbrook is going to crush value. Against the Memphis Grizzlies, Westbrook only played 30 minutes due to a blowout and still scored 40 fantasy points. Regardless of whether of not Kevin Durant is on the court, the Oklahoma City Thunder's star point guard is taking over the show. He is going to shoot early and often, and the Lakers' defense is going to kick back and watch him score.

Mario Chalmers (vs DEN, $4,900) 

Mario Chalmers blew up last game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Memphis Grizzlies, with Mike Conley out of the lineup due to a sore left Achilles, decided to roll with Courtney Lee at the point guard position, but that was quickly abandoned. Chalmers controlled the game for a majority of the night. He posted almost 50 fantasy points in 39 minutes, and if Mike Conley does not suit up tonight, Chalmers is going to explode again. The Denver Nuggets are worse than the Oklahoma City Thunder against the opposing point guard position. Chalmers is just waiting for an opportunity to play big minutes. He is extremely talented, and I'm surprised that he only plays around 20 minutes per game on a normal night.

 

FanDuel DFS Forwards

LeBron James (at MIN, $9,900)

As expected, LeBron James played extremely well against the Washington Wizards. He only posted 54 fantasy points in the game, after racking up almost 50 fantasy points by the end of the third quarter. The Minnesota Timberwolves are not as uptempo as the Washington Wizards, and they are slightly better at that thing called defense, but James should still perform well. His price tag is under $10,000, as the Cleveland Cavaliers love to spread the ball out, but if this game stays close, James will take over the team as usual. Whenever the game stays close, James plays around 40 minutes, and I'm expecting that to happen tonight. He is a solid play in both 50/50 contests and tournaments due to his combination of upside and consistency.

TJ Warren (vs MIA, $4,500)

TJ Warren, after only playing 21 minutes against the Los Angeles Lakers and posting only one fantasy point (yes, really), rebounded for 27.6 fantasy points in 37 minutes of action. He should continue to play big minutes for the Phoenix Suns. The Miami Heat are not a great defensive team, and they will push the pace of the game with the Suns. Warren thrives in games like that. He should shoot early and often. Warren's price tag is still rather low at only $4,500, so he can be used in both 50/50 contests and tournaments. He is very likely to hit value, but the Suns could always decide to roll with their bench. Keep an eye on the situation prior to tip-off.

 

FanDuel DFS Centers

Hassan Whiteside (at PHO, $7,300)

Hassan Whiteside looked terrible against the New York Knicks in his last game. He posted only 17.1 fantasy points in 28 minutes of action. He was two points and two rebounds away from a double-double. Tonight should be a different story for Whiteside. He gets a great matchup against the Phoenix Suns, who are pretty bad against opposing centers and love to push the pace of the game. Whiteside is a very athletic center, so the fast pace nature of the Suns' team will benefit him. He should be able to score in bunches, and the Suns love to miss shots. That will open up an opportunity for Whiteside to grab 20 plus rebounds. There is no reason to avoid Whiteside in either format, as he has been rather consistent aside from his last game against the Knicks.
