NBA Daily Fantasy Lineup Picks - FanDuel DFS Basketball Advice for 12/13/15

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I love playing daily fantasy basketball on Sundays. Most fantasy players are worried about their football lineups, leaving room for the basketball gurus to slide in and take down some leagues. Regrettably, there’s a short slate on tap for today, meaning there is little margin for error when making the lineups.

In this article, I will be providing you with Daily NBA picks for DraftKings for 12/13/15. The picks will range from some of the elite players, to mid-priced options, and value plays.

Without wasting anymore time, let's get down to it!

FanDuel DFS Point Guards

Russell Westbrook (vs UTA, $10,700)

I also like Kyle Lowry today, but the Raptors may just destroy the Sixers which could lead to Lowry being on the bench. I’m getting ahead of myself so let’s stick with Westbrook. Even with the return of Kevin Durant, Westbrooks has maintained his fantasy consistency by averaging 45.3 FanDuel points per game over his last ten. And he’s really starting to find his groove as a true point guards. He has dropped 10, 16, 10 and 7 dimes over his last four, respectively. The slow tempo of the Jazz is a little unnerving, but this matchup is projected as the second-highest point total of the day.

Cory Joseph (vs PHI, $4,500)

Picking on Philadelphia is a tried-and-true strategy. The Sixers have actually been not terrible from a fantasy standpoint against opposing point guards on the season. They rank 23rd in the league in fantasy points scored against by point guards and they’ve been even stingier over the last five. It’s the frontcourts of teams that have been carving up the Sixers. The Raptors, however, don’t have any menacing forwards, so the scoring will have to come from the backcourt. Seeing as how the Raptors are 12 point favorites, expect Joseph to get his minutes in what should be a laugher.

FanDuel DFS Shooting Guards

Eric Bledsoe (vs PHO, $8,800)

Chalk in Bledsoe as the chalk play of the day in a chalk matchup. Chalk. This Minnesota-Phoenix game is projected as the highest scoring one of the day by far. Both of these teams play with a top eight pace, which lead to a ton of opportunity for everyone on the board. Bledsoe hasn’t played anything less than 33 minutes in 13 straight games and has averaged 17.7 shots during that span. His usage rate is north of 28% of the last 15 days. There’s no reason to think the Timberwolves will slow him down

Kevin Martin (at PHO, $4,400)

Martin as on a small hot streak right now. He has played at least 40 minutes in two straight and has logged major, MAJOR numbers for someone at that price. He’s almost too hot not to roster and fantasy owners should get in on him now because eventually he will come back down to earth. Martin is a great play in almost every format.

FanDuel DFS Small Forwards

Gordon Hayward (at OKC, $7,100)

Here’s a guy that seems to have figured it out. Hayward really struggled out of the gate but has turned it up by about six gears since the injury to Rudy Gobert. Hayward has been more aggressive getting to the rim with and without the ball and has been finding open guys for easy baskets. He went 19/8/3 in his last game against the Thunder, which coincidentally was Friday night. Kevin Durant is the top option at the position, but it’ll be tough fitting in Durant and Westbrook in the same lineup. I like Hayward as a cheaper play at the swing.

Andrew Wiggins (at PHO, $6,800)

This should show you just how gross the small forward position is on Sunday. Wiggins has been an absolute nightmare for fantasy players this year. You almost never know when he is going to go off, but most of the year he has been a dud. But the over/under on this game is juicy and he is coming off a 22 point game. Perhaps we will see an uptick in production for the second year player.

FanDuel DFS Power Forwards

Mirza Teletovic (vs MIN, $4,400)

I’m going cheap at the four tonight and Phoenix has a couple options that should fill in for value. Markieff Morris is seemingly in the doghouse, so Jon Leuer and Teletovic have been splitting time to fill in for him. Honestly, Morris has been rather poor this year so it’s not been almost an upgrade. Leuer has been starting but Teletovic has been playing fabulously off the bench as of late, shooting over 48% from the field in the month of December.

Luis Scola (vs PHI, $7,400)

Brace yourselves. It’s a Luis Scola sighting. Such is the state of the Sixers frontcourt. As a unit, Philadelphia is giving up 48.1 FanDuel points per game this year, most in the Association. That number jumps to 51.9 over their last five. Clearly Scola is a tournament option, but the return on value potential is just mouth watering.

FanDuel DFS Centers

Jahlil Okafor (at TOR, $6,300)

Not in love with Okafor, but the 27.9% usage rate and 32.5 minutes per game are both good indicators that Okafor is the focal point of that “offense.” Bismack Biyombo has filled in admirably at the five for the Raptors, but Okafor has more athletic ability and overall is a much better player. Marc Gasol and Alex Len seem like better options at center today, but Gasol is rather expensive and Tyson Chandler will most likely suit up and start in place of Len. Okafor seems like, gulp, the safest mid-tier option on the slate.
