The first few weeks of the season have been a bit crazy. Late-round rookies are flashing upside while "locks" haven't been playing as well as people would have hoped. Yes, this opening statement is completely about the Bills.

In this article, my FanDuel DFS lineup targets, I will be headlining a few of my top plays on FanDuel for Week 4 of the daily fantasy football season.

These DFS lineup picks can range from the elite tier of players to a few guys that I feel are a bit overpriced on FanDuel. Let's get to it!

FanDuel DFS Quarterbacks for Week 4

Cam Newton - QB, CAR (at TB, $8,300)

After a sub-par fantasy outing the first week, Newton has really stepped his game up. In his three games this season, Newton has recorded 686 passing yards with five touchdowns. While those numbers are respectable, he has also added 144 yards and two touchdowns on the ground, making him one of the fantasy elite. He’s one of few dual-threat quarterbacks in the NFL, which makes him a fairly safe fantasy option with great upside. He gets a great matchup against a weak Bucs secondary, and Newton makes a great play in all leagues.

Derek Carr - QB, OAK (at CHI, $7,000)

Carr doesn’t really get the respect he deserves as a quarterback from a fantasy or real-life perspective. He’s averaging 23.9 FP/G over his last two games (I excluded his first start because he was playing well before he was injured and forced from the game). He has some serious weapons this season, including Amari Cooper, Michael Crabtree, and Latavius Murray, who could all go the distance whenever they touch the ball. Carr also looks a lot more poised in the pocket this season, and he’ll get a great matchup against the Bears, who have one of the worst defenses in the NFL. It’s only a matter of time before Carr’s price jumps up, so use him while he’s cheap.

 

FanDuel DFS Running Backs for Week 4

Jamaal Charles - RB, KC (at CIN, $8,700)

I don’t love the matchups that the top running backs have this week, but Charles is essentially matchup-proof. If a team stops the run, they will work him in the passing game. He’s also a clear target in the red zone, as he has five total touchdowns this season. He has scored at least once in each of his first three games, while adding 312 total yards to the mix. The Bengals have been surprisingly bad against the run this season, and Charles is one of the safest players on the slate.

Karlos Williams - RB, BUF (vs NYG, $6,300)

This pick depends on the status of LeSean McCoy this week, but the early reports are saying he will sit out of the Bills' tilt with the New York Giants. If he does, Williams should be entered in every lineup. He has carried the ball 24 times this season for 186 yards and three touchdowns. He’s also coming off a monster 110-yard game with a touchdown on only 12 carries. With McCoy out, Williams will likely see 20-25 carries against one of the league's worst rush defenses. Williams flashed great upside, totaling 1,747 yards from scrimmage with 23 touchdowns in two seasons at Florida State. He has more than enough upside to pay off his price tag, and he should be used in all lineups this week.

 

FanDuel DFS Wide Receivers for Week 4

Julio Jones - WR, ATL (vs HOU, $9,400) 

Jones simply looks better than everyone else on the field this season. In his first three games, he has recorded 34 receptions for 440 yards and four touchdowns. He’s being targeted early and often for the Falcons, as Matt Ryan has targeted him a league-high 46 times this season. He is also third in the league in red zone targets, receiving eight looks through the first three weeks. He gets a matchup against the Texans, who have yet to be challenged by an elite receiver this season. Jones isn’t going to come cheap, but he is one of the most consistent options on the slate, and he has as much upside as anyone.

Michael Crabtree - WR, OAK (at CHI, $5,800)

One of the most important parts of fantasy football is to find the guys who are ready to go off instead of chasing the guys who already did. Crabtree popped off for 21.6 FPs in the second week, but he failed to score over seven FPs in his other two games. Crabtree is tied for eleventh in the NFL in targets, and he has only caught 55% of his targets so far this season. That shows that he possesses much higher upside than he has displayed thus far, and he is also the Raiders leading target in the red zone. He gets a great matchup against the Bears, who have been one of the worst defenses in the NFL this season, and he makes a great stacking option with Derek Carr.

 

FanDuel DFS Tight Ends for Week 4

Greg Olsen - TE, CAR (at TAM, $6,300) 

The Gronk is on bye this week, which means we’ll have to find a new tight end to target. Olsen was one of the most talked about tight ends in the NFL before the season, but those talks quickly quieted down after he recorded only seven catches for 81 total yards in his first two games. The talks are sure to start back up after he ripped the Saints for 134 yards and two touchdowns on eight catches. He is tied with Gronk for the most targets by a tight end this season, and Olsen is one of the safest options out there this week.

Martellus Bennett - TE, CHI (vs OAK, $5,500) 

Martellus Bennett has had a bit of a down year with only 13 catches, 118 yards, and one touchdown through the first three games. He gets a great matchup this week, however, which is more than enough of a reason to play him. The Raiders have been torched by tight ends this season, allowing 9-104-2 and 5-88-2 to Tyler Eifert and Crockett Gillmore, respectively. If that isn’t enough evidence, Gary Barnidge even recorded a 6-105-1 line against them. Bennett may be the most talented of that group, and he should be a great option this week.
