DraftKings DFS – MLB Lineup Picks, Sleepers, and Advice for 5/19/15

RotoBaller is hosting a special MLB DFS Q&A today at 5pm. Scroll to the bottom of the post to find the chatroom and ask your question or click the link above.

We have a full slate of games Tuesday, May 19th, with all the action being at night. Below you'll find our DraftKings MLB DFS lineup picks for this evening. Good luck!

Offenses to Target for DraftKings Stacking

Oakland Athletics LHB vs Roberto Hernandez

The Athletics struggle mightily against left handed pitching but dominate against right handers. Vogt and Reddick have a wRC+ of 199 and 201, which means they are twice as good as the average major leaguer vs. righties. Semien (139), Canha (138), Burns (131) and Davis (124) are well above average as well. With this in mind, feel free to slot in some of Oakland’s hot lefty hitters against Roberto Hernandez, who has struggled to strike anyone out and only has one win on the year.

San Francisco Giants LHB vs Carlos Frias

The Giants really should have no problem driving in runs against Frias. The hottest hitters in the Giants’ lineup are the lefties, so take a look at guys like Brandon Belt and Brandon Crawford when setting your lineups for Tuesday. The Giants’ left handed batters have the fifth best offense against right handers, posting a wRC+ of 108. Frias has also given up three earned runs in both of his starts this year, so it’s not like the Giants are running into an ace either.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for DraftKings

Michael Wacha – SP – Cardinals ($8300)

Michael Wacha looks to be one of the best picks for DraftKings on Tuesday, as his performance this year has been great and his price tag has remained manageable. Wacha has a matchup against the Mets, who have the fifth worst offense against right handed pitching, with a wRC+ of only 80. Wacha has a 2.06 ERA with 1.08 WHIP on the year, and has only give up more than 2 runs once this year. Expect him to dominate this matchup.

Anibal Sanchez – SP – Tigers ($8100)

Anibal Sanchez is another quality starting pitcher whose matchup provides great reason to roster him on Tuesday. Sanchez may have struggled earlier on in the year, but the strikeouts have still been there. Matchups against the loaded Royals offense have also inflated his numbers, but he should have no problem getting a quality start against the lowly Brewers. The Brewers have the fourth worst offense against right handers with a wRC+ of 79.

DFS Infielders to Consider for DraftKings

Yadier Molina – C – Cardinals ($3300)

Yadier Molina is heating up. Get him into your lineup for Tuesday, and continue to deploy him as long as his investment price remains this low. Molina now has four multi-hit games in his last five games, and has brought up his average to .290. He has also dominated his matchup against opposing pitcher Jonathan Niese. Molina is 6 for 16 with a home run against Niese.

Brandon Belt – 1B – Giants ($4500)

Brandon Belt is playing out of his mind right now. He is 9 for his last 14 with a home run in each of his last three games. The Giants offense has also really clicked as of late, which has allowed Belt to score 8 runs during this three game stretch. Belt looks to be an excellent pick at first base for as long as he and his team are hot.

Brian Dozier – 2B – Twins ($4300)

Brian Dozier looks to be a great value pick at second base. His price is still not on par with the best second basemen in baseball, but he provides a lot of value when he gets hot. His average has also been significantly better this year, which means he has become a safe play for daily fantasy. On the year, Dozier has a .264 average with 6 home runs and 19 RBI. His biggest value comes from the 29 runs he has scored this year. With 2 home runs in his last three games, Dozier should make a great value pick.

Kris Bryant – 3B – Cubs ($4200)

Kris Bryant has arguably been the hottest third baseman in baseball, but his investment price still remains average and should give you plenty of reason to roster him. At the moment, his value is simply through the roof, and his spot near the top of the lineup allows for him to contribute well across the board. On the year, Bryant has a .291 average with 4 home runs and 24 RBI. He is also going into Tuesday with a seven game hitting streak. He left Sunday’s game with an illness, so just make sure to check his status prior to game time.

Jhonny Peralta – SS – Cardinals ($3900)

An investment price of $3900 is certainly not cheap but Johnny Peralta’s production makes his price tag quite a bargain. With a rather shallow pool of good shortstops in today’s game, Peralta has emerged as a consistent option that continues to be overlooked due to his lack of speed. However, Peralta has a .299 average with 6 home runs and 19 RBI on the year. He is facing Jon Niese in a nice righty vs. lefty matchup.

DFS Outfielders to Consider for DraftKings

Bryce Harper – OF – Nationals ($5600)

Bryce Harper’s price tag continues to go up and it is getting harder and harder to include him in our lineups. However, we must be willing to play the matchups and ride this incredible hot streak he has been on. On the year, Harper has a .338 average, 36 runs scored, 14 home runs, and 37 RBI. He is also facing the home run prone Nathan Eovaldi, who has given up 5 home runs in 7 starts this season.

Nori Aoki – OF – Giants ($3600)

Now for a cheaper option at outfield, Aoki looks to still hold a place in San Francisco’s lineup, despite the return of Hunter Pence, due to Angel Pagan’s injury. Aoki should definitely be used on Tuesday for his solid matchup against right handed pitcher Carlos Frias. On the year, Aoki has a .291 average along with 10 stolen bases. Once in the lineup, Aoki typically occupies the leadoff spot, so expect at least one run from the speedy outfielder.
