MLB Fantasy Baseball DFS Fanduel Lineup Picks for 4/17

P: Scott Feldman ($5,500): The perfect matchup of hot pitcher and struggling offense takes place tonight in Houston. Feldman comes in with three stellar starts thus far this year having only given up 1 earned run in 20.2 innings. One negative to his game is that he only has 7 strikeouts in those starts but considering he is taking on a Royals team that is last in baseball in runs scored that should be offset with 0’s on the scoreboard.

C: Mike Zunino ($2,500): I generally take catchers who are HR threats as it provides a huge bump. That is exactly what Zunino is tonight as he has 3 homers already this year along with 8 RBI. To go along with that he gets to face Tanner Scheppers who has given up 14 earned runs in his three starts this year.

1B: Brandon Belt ($3,500): Belt has been one of the best players in all of fantasy this year with 5 HR, 9 runs scored and 10 RBI thus far. Along with that he has gone hitless in only three of the Giants games this year which means he will almost be assured of contributing. He will be facing a tough lefty in Ryu tonight, but he does have a .271 career average against left handed pitching so there should be no reason to ignore him tonight.

2B: Dee Gordon ($3,600): At the beginning of the season, Don Mattingly wanted someone to stand out and take the Dodgers second base job. Gordon has done just that as he is hitting .372 and already had 10 stolen bases. He has a tough matchup against Bumgarner, but if he can get on base he is still a threat to steal and score runs.

3B: Evan Longoria ($4,100): The Rays star has had a solid season with a .308 average and 6 RBI. The problem has been his lack of power as he doesn’t have a homerun in his last 11 games. That could change tonight as he gets to face CC Sabathia who he has lit up for a career .396 average and 6 homeruns in 66 at-bats. Big things could be in the works for the stud 3B tonight.

SS: Jhonny Peralta ($3,300): Peralta owners have been smiling recently as he is coming off of a three game streak of 2 hits and at least 1 RBI and 1 run. The bad news is that recent hot streak pushed his average to a meager .182 on the year. Tonight he faces Taylor Jordan who is coming off of a rough outing in which he gave up 5 runs and 10 hits to the Braves. Look for similar results from Cardinals hitters tonight.

OF: Chris Colabello ($2,400): Before we get into the pick, be sure the Minnesota and Toronto game is a go as bad weather looks like it could persist at Target Field. However, if the game does go it would be a wise idea to take the player who is third (yes THIRD) in all of baseball with 15 RBI. The Twins cleanup hitter has taken advantage of the opportunities he has had this year as he has 15 hits along with his 15 RBI. He only has 1 HR on the year but has still posted over a .300 average which means he should be in for another positive outing.

OF: Allen Craig ($2,900): Craig has struggled this year, posting just a .143 average, but things appear to have turned around in the last few nights. He is working on a 5 game hitting streak and was able to hit his first homerun of the season last night. Be sure to take advantage of his low price while you can as the ultra-productive Craig’s number should continue to go up.

OF: George Springer ($2,500): One of the most highly touted youngsters in the game, Springer was called up for his first game of the season last night. He responded well in the two hole for the Astro’s and could be in for a big night against the soft tossing Bruce Chen. Springer has shown plus power, average and speed in the minors which means a monster fantasy night is always in play.
