Fantasy Football Drop Candidates
Read about fantasy football players to consider dropping for Week 7:
Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (blood clots) will miss the remainder of the 2026 season after new imaging over the weekend revealed several blood clots in his lungs. According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, Hurts has begun taking blood thinners and is expected to recover without long-term complications.
The Eagles initially placed him on injured reserve Saturday after discovering a blood clot in his calf, but the latest findings have ended any possibility of a return this season. Tanner McKee now appears positioned to handle starting duties for Philadelphia, having completed 26 of 45 passes for 215 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 25-14 loss to Carolina.
DeVonta Smith caught seven passes for 75 yards and a touchdown, while Dallas Goedert added six receptions for 61 yards. Both remain important pieces of Philadelphia's passing attack, although McKee's 4.8 yards per attempt in his first start raises concerns about the offense's efficiency going forward.
Brian Thomas Jr., Jacksonville Jaguars
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. had no catches on two targets in his team's Week 6 loss to the Houston Texans. The former LSU product has seen a sharp decline since his rookie season and has just nine receptions for 105 yards and one touchdown through six contests.
Meanwhile, Parker Washington continued to produce in Week 6 with four receptions for 64 yards, and Jakobi Meyers led Jacksonville's receiving corps with five receptions for 83 yards. Bhayshul Tuten, Travis Hunter, and Nate Boerkircher all caught touchdown passes on Sunday, further highlighting Thomas's omission from the stats sheet. Thomas is only worth rostering in deep 14+ team fantasy formats.
MarShawn Lloyd, Green Bay Packers
Green Bay Packers running back MarShawn Lloyd rushed eight times for a total of ten yards and failed to bring in his lone target during this weekend's 23-13 win over the visiting Dallas Cowboys. Lloyd has been Green Bay's preferred backfield option in the red zone, totaling more opportunities (14) heading into Week 6 than his positional cohorts combined (nine).
However, the USC product ceded a good amount of work to backfield mate Pierre Strong Jr., who was also heavily involved in the passing game. An in-game injury may have limited Lloyd's workload, though the team never disclosed the ailment, and he returned after a brief exit.
Regardless, the backfield's touch distribution is set to narrow when teammate Josh Jacobs returns in Week 7. Jacobs may be eased back in after an extended absence, but Lloyd is trending down ahead of a divisional clash with the Detroit Lions.
Mark Andrews, Baltimore Ravens
Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews had a quiet game in his team's 13-10 Week 6 loss to the Cleveland Browns, recording just one catch for four yards on three targets. It was Andrews' first game this season with fewer than five targets. However, the veteran tight end's production has been underwhelming in 2026. Across six games, Andrews has now recorded 23 catches for 181 yards and a touchdown on 33 targets.
The 31-year-old has not recorded 30 receiving yards in a game since Week 2. Andrews may see his usage continue to decline going forward, as Ravens rookie tight end Josh Cuevas hauled in four catches for 44 yards and a touchdown on five targets against Cleveland.
Baltimore also got rookie wideout Ja'Kobi Lane back from Injured Reserve, which pushes Andrews further down the team's pecking order for targets. Based on the downward trends in his recent production, Andrews is becoming tougher and tougher for fantasy managers to trust. He is a safe cut in most 12-team leagues.
Jameis Winston, New York Giants
New York Giants quarterback Jameis Winston was benched in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints after completing 53.8% of his passes for 152 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. He was also sacked four times before being pulled for J.J. McCarthy. Winston was projected to have a good week given that New Orleans' defense entered Week 6 allowing the second-most points and the fifth-most yards.
The Giants' offense was generally quiet on Sunday, with the exception of running back Tyrone Tracy Jr., who had a rushing touchdown and a receiving touchdown before Winston exited the game. He should only remain stashed in deeper superflex leagues entering Week 7.
Tyler Allgeier, Atlanta Falcons
Arizona Cardinals running back Tyler Allgeier carried the ball 18 times for 38 yards (2.1 yards per carry) and added one reception (on two targets) for 10 yards in an 18-16 upset victory over the Los Angeles Rams.
Statistically speaking, it was a disappointing day for Allgeier, who had an opportunity for a big game with rookie running back and starter Jeremiyah Love (ankle) out with an ankle injury on Sunday. Allgeier drew the start against the Rams and led the backfield in offensive snaps with 40, but he was easily out-produced by running back Bam Knight, who led the Cardinals with 80 rushing yards on just 15 attempts (5.3 yards per carry). Knight also had two receptions for 18 yards.
Allgeier's fantasy relevance moving forward will depend on Love's status, but Knight having the much more productive and efficient game is not a great sign for fantasy managers who were counting on Allgeier. For now, he remains a firm hold but his upside appears to be capped.
Jake Ferguson, Dallas Cowboys
Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson hauled in two of three targets for 13 yards in the 23-13 loss to the Green Bay Packers. After two drops, one resulting in an INT, in Week 5, the Cowboys rotated tight ends more often against the Packers. Ferguson played a season-low 62% of snaps and ran 55% of routes on Sunday.
With Ferguson phased out, Brevyn Spann-Ford played a season-high 46% of snaps and had four receptions on five targets for 35 yards in Week 6. With wide receivers CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, and Ryan Flournoy as the top three targets in this offense, there's little room left for Ferguson, who has struggled in 2026. Fantasy managers can safely drop the Cowboys tight end, as there are much better options on the waiver wire.
