Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 2:
Tyler Shough, New Orleans Saints
New Orleans Saints quarterback Tyler Shough struggled in the first half of Week 1 against the Lions, completing just 10 of 22 passes for 85 yards and an interception. He found his groove in the second half and overtime, completing 25 of 34 passes for 326 yards, three touchdowns and one pick. Shough said afterward that he was "trying to be too perfect" early on against Detroit.
He'll now face a tough Ravens defense in Week 2 after they allowed just 166 passing yards and one passing touchdown to Daniel Jones and the Colts in Week 1. Shough will need to do a better job limiting turnovers, and getting off to a better start will be important against Baltimore.
His ability to push the ball downfield gives him strong upside, but the tough matchup does add some risk. If he can avoid the early mistakes, Shough is a high-upside QB2 this week.
Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts looks to continue his strong start to the 2026 season with a road matchup against the Tennessee Titans. In a 24-22 victory over the Washington Commanders, Hurts completed 14 out of 25 passes (56%) for 203 yards and three touchdowns, while adding seven carries for 46 rushing yards. He did not turn the ball over.
Hurts connected on two touchdown passes with tight end Dallas Goedert and one score with wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks. Hurts recorded 24.7 points in standard scoring leagues, which ranked him seventh among quarterbacks in Week 1.
The Titans allowed Geno Smith and the New York Jets to pass for 215 yards in Week 1, which ranked just 21st in the NFL after one game. Tennessee's defense allowed 230.5 passing yards per game in 2025 (23rd in the NFL).
Entering the matchup with the Titans, Hurts ranks as RotoBaller's No. 5 quarterback. RotoBaller also gives Hurts a matchup rating of 110.0 and projects him to score 19.9 points against Tennessee. Hurts is a must-start quarterback in all leagues. He also deserves a hard look in DFS formats.
Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott managed just 175 passing yards on 34 attempts, good for just over 5.1 yards per pass, against the New York Giants in Week 1. It was an overall sluggish start against what was one of the weaker pass defenses in the NFL last season.
Dallas will return home for Week 2 for another divisional showdown, this time against the Washington Commanders, who allowed the fifth-most passing yards per game in the NFL last season. Prescott was potent against them last season, finishing with 23.3 and 22.7 fantasy points in their two matchups.
Something feels different about this year's Cowboys offense, though -- despite having their starting running back and two star receivers healthy, they floundered against a team they put up 40 points against in Week 2 last season.
Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer didn't have his team prepared to compete in Week 1, as they were simply dominated by New York, though many of the problems stemmed from the Cowboys not being able to get off the field. Prescott remains a must-start in 2QB and superflex leagues, though he's a big risk to start in non-6 point passing TD leagues and 1QB contests.
Bo Nix, Denver Broncos
The season opener did not go as planned for quarterback Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos in a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. There will be no rest for the weary in Week 2, as Denver now takes on a talented Jacksonville Jaguars team. Nix finished Week 1 against Kansas City with just 131 yards passing and a touchdown along with an interception, while he was sacked four times and recorded just five fantasy points.
The Jacksonville defense is coming off an outstanding performance against a lowly Cleveland Browns offense, allowing 10 points and just 272 yards of total offense a week ago. Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson finished the game 16 of 22 passing with a touchdown and an interception. Nix is RotoBaller's 19th-ranked quarterback, making him an option for fantasy managers in two-quarterback leagues at best.
