Byron Young 2026 Fantasy Football Outlook: From Underrated to Invaluable
Two things fantasy managers need to pay close attention to are consistency and improvement. In each of his first three seasons, Byron Young has not only been a consistent force along the Rams' front seven, but he has also improved upon his numbers in each of those seasons. As a rookie, Young recorded 61 tackles to go along with 8.0 sacks and followed that up in his second season with an additional 62 tackles and 7.5 sacks. However, in year three, Young became a household name, registering career highs in tackles and sacks with 82 and 12.5, respectively. That increased production led to Young recording 177.3 fantasy points (10.4 per contest), which ranked 35th among defensive players and seventh when combining edge defenders and defensive linemen. With the likes of Kobie Turner, Poona Ford, and Braden Fiske doing the dirty work up front, and Jared Verse commanding attention opposite of Young, there is a strong chance that we have yet to see Young at his ceiling as he approaches top-five status of fantasy edge rushers without much fanfare.
