RotoCole’s Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Advice: April 10th Edition
In the preseason, we brought you Daily League Strategy Part 1 and Part 2. Now, all season long, I will be giving you my advice on who to start in your daily fantasy lineups. Initially, this advice will cater to those who play on Fanduel. They offer some of the best gaming options for beginners, intermediate, and expert level players. Whether you are new to the daily fantasy scene or have been playing for years, our columns will be up-to-date and useful for all levels of experience. Ladies (one or two reading this) and gentlemen, here is your late game Daily Fantasy Baseball lineup advice for the late games on April 10th, 2013:
Humpday Play of the Day: OF Denard Span ($3,500) - The Nats leadoff man is coming off of a nice game and has absolutely owned Gavin Floyd in his career. Combine that with his affordable price and he becomes the Humpday Play of the Day (TM).
Double-Up:
1. Adam LaRoche - He is still injury-priced and had an awesome two-homer game yesterday. Start him at his cheap price and splurge elsewhere.
2. Asdrubal Cabrera - He started slow this season but homered yesterday;v he could get hot against Ivan Nova. He is a safe play with nice upside.
Double-Down:
1. J.J. Hardy - He is just 2-for-27 in his career against Ryan Dempster. I know he's never been a high average guy but he makes Dempster look like Nolan Ryan.
2. Starlin Castro - The young shortstop is 5-for-20 with no extra base hits in his career versus Kyle Lohse.
RotoCole’s FanDuel lineup for April 10th, 2013:
C: Joe Mauer ($3,300) - At $3.3K, Mauer is priced just right. He is 4-for-5 in his career against scheduled starter Wade Davis. Make sure you check the Twins-Royals game status prior to lineup lock due to the possibility of inclement weather causing a postponement.
1B: Adam LaRoche ($3,100) - Back from injury with a blast yesterday as he went 2-for-4 with two bombs. His price wasn't affected by the game, so start him against RHP Gavin Floyd and the ChiSox.
2B: Robinson Cano ($4,500) - Exploded with a huge game yesterday going 4-for-6. His hot streak should continue against whoever Cleveland starts.
3B: Kevin Youkilis ($4,100) - Went 1-for-3 with a two-run HR yesterday, and I expect him to continue to scald the ball.
SS: Asdrubal Cabrera ($3,500) - Still hitting in the 3-hole and has a nice matchup against Yankee starter Ivan Nova. Should be a super safe play at short.
OF: Denard Span ($3,500) - Went 2-for-3 yesterday and he's a ridiculous 17-for-35 in his career against Gavin Floyd. Anytime a hitter has a career BvP avg near .500 with that large of a sample size you should start them.
OF: Brett Gardner ($2,900) - Went 4-for-5 yesterday and looks to be regaining form.
OF: David DeJesus ($3,300) - Career 12-for-26 line against Kyle Lohse and went 3-for-5 yesterday.
P: Jordan Zimmerman ($6,800) - I decided it was time to spend more on pitching that I can expect good results from. The cheap pitching option had failed me too many times and taken me out of games a few times this year. Zimmerman faces a powerful ChiSox lineup but he threw 7 shutout innings against them in 2011.
