Andy's NHL power rankings for all 32 teams heading into Week 11 of 2025. Where does each NHL team stand in our latest power rankings for the 2025 season?
Week 10 of the NHL season is in the books, and it's time to update our power rankings. This week, we saw two massive trades go down as the Canucks shipped superstar defender Quinn Hughes to the Wild, and the Penguins and Oilers swapped goalies as Stuart Skinner and Tristan Jarry found themselves on new clubs.
With the holiday break just a week away, the playoff race is beginning to solidify, and we are starting to see who will be competing this season and who is looking ahead to the offseason.
All statistics and team records mentioned are updated as of Monday, December 15. Who were the biggest risers and fallers from this past week? Let's dive in!
No. 32 - Vancouver Canucks
The Canucks were at the center of the trade market this week. On Friday night, they shipped superstar defenseman Hughes to the Minnesota Wild in exchange for forward Marco Rossi and numerous prospects.
While they dropped their first two games of the week (to the Red Wings and the Sabers), the Hughes-less Canucks took down the Devils (2-1) on Sunday afternoon. They sit comfortably at the bottom of the league standings with an 11-17-3 record and hold the bottom spot once again.
Expect other major trades for this club as they have their eyes set on a rebuild.
No. 31 - Calgary Flames
After picking up two victories over the Wild and Mammoth to conclude last week, the Flames stayed hot on Monday. They took down the Sabres by a commanding 7-4 score. While the Red Wings snapped their three-game win streak on Wednesday, they got back in the win column on Saturday, with an overtime victory over the Kings.
Over the last 10, they boast a promising 6-3-1 record. Overall, they hold a 13-16-4 record, placing them with 30 points, tied for the third-fewest in the sport.
No. 30- Nashville Predators
The Predators began their week with a thrilling 4-3 shootout victory over the top-seeded Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday evening. They stayed hot on Thursday, taking down the Blues by a 7-2 score, but would fall to the Avalanche in their rematch, this time in a 4-2 regulation loss.
Veteran center Ryan O'Reilly has played a lead role in their recent play. Over his last nine games, O'Reilly has found the back of the net four times and tacked on seven helpers with a +4 rating.
No. 29 - Seattle Kraken
In Week 10, the Kraken continued to fall and are quickly sliding down our rankings. On Monday, they fell to the Wild (4-1), but bounced back on Wednesday, taking down the Kings in overtime.
However, they fell back in the loss column on Friday at the hands of the Mammoth. On Sunday, they saw these struggles persist, scoring just one goal in a 4-1 loss to the Sabres. They only scored three or more goals in just two games this week, and their (74) total goals scored once to place them at the bottom of this port by a wide margin.
Netminder Joey Daccord has also cooled off from his hot start, which has begun to sink this team as he has posted a rough 3.72 GAA with a .850% SV% over his last six outings.
No. 28 - Buffalo Sabres
The Sabres saw their losing streak hit three games on Monday when they lost to the lowly Flames (7-4) in Western Canada. However, they found their footing later on this road trip, taking down the Oilers in overtime and then defeating the Canucks (3-2) on Thursday.
On Sunday, they traveled to Seattle and took down the Kraken by a score of 3-1. Tage Thompson has enjoyed a surge this week and led the offense, netting four goals with three helpers across four games. Thompson is riding a four-game goal streak into a Thursday evening tilt against the Flyers.
No. 27 - Winnipeg Jets
After falling 6-2 to the Oilers last weekend, they continued to struggle, dropping their next two games in regulation to the Stars and the Bruins. However, they secured their second victory of December on Saturday evening against the Washington Capitals.
Over the last 10, they hold a rough 3-6-1 record and currently sit with a 15-15-1 record. While they were unable to break out of their slump this week, winger Gabriel Vilardi has found the back of the net five times over his last five games.

No. 26 - St. Louis Blues
The Blues have shown some promise over the past two weeks after a rough start to the season. However, in Week 10, they reverted to the early-season form, dropping two of their three games in regulation. They fell to the Bruins (5-2) and the Predators (7-2) in regulation but would end the week on a high note, taking down the Blackhawks (3-2).
Their -34 GD sits as the worst in the sport by a significant margin. They are the only team with a GD in the -30s and the only team that has allowed more than 115 goals. Over his last six games, Jordan Binnington has struggled to find his footing, posting a 4.51 GAA and an .843% SV%. However, given that they have recently shown some improvement, they still sit near the top of this bottom group.
No. 25 - Chicago Blackhawks
The struggles continued for the Blackhawks in Week 10 as they have yet to climb out of the bottom tier of our rankings. While they began their week with a 3-0 victory over the Rangers, they dropped their final two games in regulation, against the Blues and the Red Wings.
More importantly, Chicago fans are cautiously waiting for an update on superstar Connor Bedard. Bedard is currently dealing with a shoulder injury and is not expected to travel on their Eastern Canada road trip, which begins with a tilt in Toronto on Monday. If Bedard misses time, this team could take a massive hit.
No. 24 - Columbus Blue Jackets
The Blue Jackets dropped their final two games last week and saw their losing streak continue in Week 10. Across three games, the Blue Jackets dropped all three and were unable to push any to overtime. Their losses came against the Hurricanes, Senators, and Golden Knights, with two of them coming on their home ice.
Over their last 10, they have posted a tough 2-5-3 record, putting them in a major hole in the tough Metropolitan Division. Their schedule won't get much easier as they face the Ducks and Wild to open Week 11.
No. 23 - Ottawa Senators
The Senators saw their losing streak reach three games as they fell to the slumping Devils on Tuesday evening. In this loss, Netminder Linus Ullmark conceded four goals. While they were able to snap the skid against the Blue Jackets on Thursday, taking them down 6-3, they fell right back in the loss column against the Minnesota Wild on the weekend.
Their 3-7 record over their last 10 games places them near the bottom of the league, and they are quickly losing ground in the playoff race. Ullmark has been unable to defend in the starter's crease, posting a .866% SV% over his last five contests. This was a stark decline from the dominant 1.98 GAA and 3-1 record he posted over the previous four starts.
No. 22 - Utah Mammoth
The Mammoth had a busy four-game slate in Week 10. They opened up with a bit of a skid, dropping their first two games to the Kings and the surging Panthers. However, on Friday, they took down the Kraken on their home ice (5-3) to pick up their first victory since December 5.
On Sunday, they pulled off an impressive three-game rally against the Penguins to continue their win streak. Dylan Guenther enjoyed a massive week, netting five goals, including the overtime winner on Sunday.
No. 21 - Toronto Maple Leafs
The Leafs enjoyed a massive resurgence last week and continued to stack points in Week 10. They began their week with an impressive 2-0 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning. While they fell to the Sharks in Toronto on Thursday, they were able to escape with a critical loser point.
They ended their week with a regulation loss at the hands of Connor McDavid and the Oilers, who have begun to heat up as well. Their 5-3-2 record over their last 10 has given them a massive boost in the standings, putting them at 14-12-5. The Leafs will have a perfect bounce-back match against the slumping Blackhawks on Tuesday, who will be without the young superstar, Bedard.
No. 20 - San Jose Sharks
After an impressive victory over the Hurricanes last Sunday night, the Sharks took a step back to open the week, falling to the Flyers (4-1) in Philadelphia. However, this emerging team bounced back quite well, picking up all four possible points in their last two games. On Thursday, they took down the Leafs in Toronto (3-2) in overtime, and on Saturday, they potentially pulled off the most impressive comeback of the season.
In Pittsburgh, they rallied down 5-1 in the third period to force overtime and eventually take down the Penguins. In this game, Tyler Toffoli and Macklin Celebrini led the way, combining for an eye-catching three goals and seven points.
No. 19 - Florida Panthers
Here comes the Panthers. After finishing last week with an impressive 4-1 victory over the red-hot New York Islanders, they picked up two wins in three games this week and continued to surge in the Eastern Conference. On Wednesday, they took down the Mammoth (4-3) in Utah but would then fall to the Avalanche in Colorado. However, they got back on track with an impressive 4-0 victory over the Stars on Saturday.
Sam Bennett has provided a much-needed spark to the offense. Over the last week, he has led the team with three goals and four points. Overall, the reigning champions carry a 16-13-2 record into Week 11 and are beginning to show their true potential.

No. 18 - Montreal Canadiens
The Canadiens began their week with a tough 6-1 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday evening. However, they quickly turned the corner, putting together a strong showing in their 4-2 victory over the Penguins in Pittsburgh on Thursday.
Over the weekend, they escaped a battle against the Rangers with an overtime point, and on Sunday, they rebounded well, knocking down the Oilers (4-1), who have begun to heat up over the past two weeks. While they have been a bit inconsistent over the last two weeks, carrying a 5-4-1 record over their last 10, they still sit with a promising 17-11-4 record and are in the heart of the East playoff picture.
No. 17 - Los Angeles Kings
Following their demanding 6-0 victory over the Blackhawks last weekend, the Kings carried this momentum into their opening match of the week against the Mammoth. In this game, Joel Armia would net two goals in a 4-2 victory. While they dropped their final two games of the week against the Kraken and Flames, they picked up two overtime points to hold their footing in the standings.
While their struggles at home have continued (4-6-4), they have been near elite on the road. Through 17 road games, they have picked up 10 victories with just two regular losses. They currently sit with a 14-8-9 record, good for third in the Pacific Division.
No. 16 - Edmonton Oilers
The Oilers have found their stride. In Week 9, they posted two impressive victories over the Kraken and the Jets, and continued to play at a high level this week. They began with a tough 4-3 overtime loss to the Sabres on Tuesday, but picked up two straight victories over the Red Wings and the Leafs.
On Sunday, they took a tough 4-1 loss to the Canadiens in Montreal, bringing them to a 15-12-6 record. They have shown significant improvement over their last 10, carrying a 6-3-1 record into Week 11. It was a big week for Connor McDavid, who tallied 10 points (four goals) over these four games. Additionally, the newly-acquired netminder, Jarry, looked sharp in his Oilers debut, stopping 25 of the 28 shots he saw on Saturday.
No. 15 - New Jersey Devils
The Devils were our biggest faller last week after dropping all four of their games in regulation. However, they rebounded impressively this week to regain their footing in the Eastern Conference. They opened with a massive 4-3 victory over the Senators but would fall to the Lightning 8-4 on Thursday.
However, they would grab another two points over the Ducks on Saturday before dropping their final game to the Canucks on Sunday (2-1). Even though they hold a modest 4-6 record over their last 10, they showed some improvement this week and will be in the middle of the pack approaching the holiday break. The injuries have slowed this team down, especially to top forward Jack Hughes, but they remain in the playoff race and sit in the middle of our rankings.
No. 14 - Pittsburgh Penguins
The wheels may be coming off this club. After a hot start that nobody predicted, the Penguins have begun to drop winnable games and are falling in the Eastern standings. On Tuesday, they were unable to hold on to a lead against Anaheim with .01 seconds left, but escaped with a loser overtime point.
On Thursday, they fell to the Canadiens in regulation, and on Saturday, the Penguins blew another lead (this time 5-1) and fell to the Sharks in overtime. Their struggles continued on Sunday, as they surrendered a three-goal lead (in the third period) and lost another game in overtime. Despite still sitting in the top half of our rankings, their 1-9 overtime record is a significant issue for this club.
Expect newly-acquired netminder, Skinner, to make his Penguins debut sometime this week, potentially in a rematch against his former club on Tuesday.
No. 13 - New York Rangers
The Rangers had a shorter slate of action this week. They began their week with a disappointing 3-0 loss to the Blackhawks on Wednesday, but they were able to get back on track with a 5-4 victory over the Canadiens at MSG. They will have a busy five-game slate in Week 11, beginning with a matchup against the Ducks in New York.
Following an inconsistent start, the Rangers have been much more solid and sit with a strong 6-2-2 record over their last 10. They enter Week 11 with a 16-13-4 record with 36 points, sitting just behind the Penguins and Devils in their division. However, their recent play has pushed them over both of these clubs in our rankings.
No. 12 - Boston Bruins
The Bruins continued to roll in Week 10 and sit within the top-10 of our power rankings. After finishing Week 9 with two victories, they picked up right where they left off in Week 10, picking up two straight wins over the Blues and the Jets by a combined score of 11-5.
On Sunday, they took a loss against the high-powered Wild (6-2) that recently welcomed the superstar defenseman, Hughes, to their roster. Despite the loss, the Bruins still sit with an impressive 19-14 record, placing them just one point behind the Red Wings and Lightning in the Atlantic Division.
David Pastrnak enjoyed a busy week on the scoresheet, tallying seven points with two goals.
No. 11 - Detroit Red Wings
The Red Wings went 3-1 this week and took a nice bump in our power rankings. They began their week with a continental road trip, taking down the Canucks and Flames in Western Canada. While they fell to the Oilers on Thursday, they quickly got back to the win column, shutting out the Blackhawks on Saturday.
During these four games, the Red Wings completely shut down their opponents, surrendering just seven total goals. John Gibson got the nod in three of the gams and posted an elite .971% SV% with two shutouts.
No. 10 - Philadelphia Flyers
The Flyers continue to silence their doubters and have finally jumped their state rival, the Penguins, in our rankings. After ending last week with a 4-2 loss to the Avalanche, they rebounded well, picking up a 4-1 victory over the Sharks. On Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, they picked up overtime points at the hands of the Golden Knights and Hurricanes (twice).
The Flyers continue to pick up points and sit within striking distance of the Capitals in the division. Trevor Zegras continues to be a pleasant surprise for this club, adding another six points across four games this week.
No. 9 - Tampa Bay Lightning
The Lightning took a bit of a step back last week and tend Week 10, riding a two-game losing streak. Unfortunately, they saw this streak reach three games when they fell to the Leafs in a 2-0 shutout. However, on Tuesday and Thursday, they surged back in a big way, taking down the Canadiens and the Devils by a combined 12-5 score.
On Saturday, they were unable to extend this winning streak to three games, but did pick up a loser point in their shootout loss to the Islanders. Even though their 5-4-1 record over the last 10 is not very promising, they still sit with 39 points, placing them at the top of the Atlantic Division alongside the Red Wings.
No. 8 - Anaheim Ducks
Riding high off a 7-1 victory over the Blackhawks last Sunday, the Ducks continued to roll on Tuesday, taking down the Penguins in Pittsburgh. In this game, they scored the tying goal with an incredible 0.1 seconds left on the clock in the final frame. However, they would fall to the surging Islanders and the Devils on Thursday and Saturday.

They will continue their Eastern trip with matchups against the Rangers and Blue Jackets on Monday and Tuesday, before returning home on Friday. Despite the two-game skid and a 5-5 record over their last 10, they still sit at 19-12-1, placing them in the top-10 in the sport.
No. 7 - Washington Capitals
The Capitals had a short week of action and took a slight dip in our rankings after going 0-1-1. They began their week with a 3-2 shootout loss to the Hurricanes before falling to the Jets in a 5-1 regulation loss.
Despite dropping both games this week, the Capitals still sit comfortably near the top of our rankings. Over their last 10, they boast a 7-1-2 record and are within reach of the Hurricanes and Islanders at the top of the Metropolitan Division. Expect these three teams to continue to trade places over the winter.
No. 6 - New York Islanders
The Islanders took a big jump in our rankings last week and continued to play at a high level in Week 10. After entering the week with a tough loss to the Panthers on Sunday, the Islanders rounded back into form, picking up three straight victories against the Golden Knights, Ducks, and Lightning.
This was the third time they took down the Bolts since the start of the month. Over their last 10, they hold a stellar 6-3-1 record and are in reach of the top seed in the division, behind the Hurricanes. They will look to push their winning streak to four games on Tuesday against the Red Wings.
No. 5 - Vegas Golden Knights
The Golden Knights were one of our biggest risers last week after picking up four straight victories. In Week 10, the Golden Knights continued to stay productive, posting a 2-0-1 record. On Thursday, they took a shootout loss to the red-hot Islanders but ended the week on a high note, taking down the Flyers (in overtime) and the Blue Jackets (in regulation).
Mitch Marner and Jack Eichel led the way this week, combining for 10 points in just six combined games played. The Knights sit at the top of the Pacific Division and hold the fourth-most points in the league.
No. 4 - Carolina Hurricanes
After a somewhat inconsistent week, the Hurricanes reminded everyone that they are the team to beat in the Eastern Conference. They began Week 10 with a commanding 4-1 victory over the Blue Jackets and then took down the Capitals (3-2) in a shootout.
On the weekend, they faced the Flyers twice, in a home-and-home series. On Saturday, they took them down in a shootout, and on Sunday, they had the same result, picking up another two points in the extra frame. The Hurricanes sit at the top of the Eastern Conference with a 21-9-2 record.
No. 3 - Minnesota Wild
The Wild finished last week on a surprising two-game losing skid at the hands of the Canucks, who have occupied the bottom spots on our list all season. However, in Week 10, the Wild quickly found their footing, taking down the Kraken, Stars, and Senators. On Sunday, they continued to roll, taking down the Bruins by a 6-2 score.
If that wasn't enough to convince you, they also went out and acquired the previously noted Norris Trophy winner, Hughes. The defenseman wasted little time in his Wild debut, netting a goal on Sunday evening.
This team is a legit contender but still sits third in a stacked Central Division.

No. 2- Dallas Stars
The Stars extended their winning streak to three games on Tuesday when they took down the Jets by a 4-3 score. However, they would see their script flipped at the end of the week, falling to the Wild and the Panthers in regulation.
Similar to the Capitals, the Stars will remain locked into the top of our rankings, despite the disappointing end to their week. Overall, the Stars sit comfortably with the second-most points in the sport and boast a stellar +22 GD.
No. 1 - Colorado Avalanche
Of course, the Avalanche continues to sit at the top of our rankings. Even though they opened Week 10 with a surprising shootout to the Predators, they bounced back, taking down the Panthers (6-2) and the Predators in a rematch (4-2) later in the week.
Through 32 games, they hold a 23-2-7 record with a 7-1-2 record over their last 10. They hold a +54 GD, which is significantly higher than the Capitals, who have the second-best +23 GD. Nathan MacKinnon continued to lead the way, tallying another six points with two goals across these three games.
