Players to Target in Trades for Fantasy Football

Ricky Pearsall, WR, 49ers

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall (knee) returned in Sunday's win over the Arizona Cardinals for the first time since spraining the PCL in his right knee way back in Week 4. Pearsall played a healthy 75% of the offensive snaps in Week 11, but he was targeted only two times by quarterback Brock Purdy, catching one of them for no gain. The 25-year-old was a full participant on Thursday in the first practice of the week, heading into a Week 12 game on Monday night against the Carolina Panthers.

A full week of full practices could help the former first-rounder become more involved on game day this week in his second game back. The Niners were up big for most of the day last Sunday against Arizona, so they didn't need to air the ball out. The game script should be more favorable in Week 12, and Pearsall should be more involved as he continues to get his legs back under him.

Verdict: Target in all formats, as Pearsall should slowly grow into the WR1 role in San Francisco.

Alec Pierce, WR, Colts

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce has become a trustworthy option for fantasy managers this season. In eight games, Pierce has hauled in 28 of 52 targets for 585 yards and a touchdown, averaging 9.8 half-PPR points per game. As of late, Pierce has been dominant, leading the NFL in receiving yards (366) from Week 7 to Week 10. His connection with Daniel Jones has been on point this season, and the Colts' offensive performance has opened more big-play opportunities for the deep threat receiver.

However, he faces a very tough matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs, who have allowed the fewest receiving yards to wide receivers in 2025. While a tough matchup causes a lot more risk, Pierce is worth starting as a WR3/FLEX play in Week 12.

Verdict: Senaky buy candidate that could still be acquired for a low-end WR3 price.

Trey Benson, RB, Cardinals

Arizona Cardinals running back Trey Benson (knee) has been on Injured Reserve since Week 4 due to a knee injury. However, Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon indicated that Benson is a candidate to have his activation window opened in the near future. That could mean Benson has a chance to return for Arizona's Week 12 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. However, that appears to be up in the air at this point, given that most of the updates we have received about Benson haven't been encouraging to fantasy managers who have been holding onto him in their IR spots.

Benson was pressed into RB1 duties when veteran running back James Conner (foot) was injured in Week 3 and ruled out for the season; however, Benson was immediately injured in Week 4, which was his first game with RB1 opportunities. Benson profiles as the team's top running back upon his return, considering the Cardinals spent a third-round (66th overall) draft pick on him.

In leagues where he is available, Benson is a must-add and stash on your bench or waiver wire. If he remains out in Week 12, the Cardinals will likely continue splitting backfield work between Bam Knight and Michael Carter, with Emari Demercado (ankle) likely out in Week 12.

Verdict: Prime buy-low candidate. While he has injury risk, he could carry high-end RB2 upside when active.

Other Players to Target in Trades

  • RJ Harvey
  • Bucky Irving
  • Deebo Samuel Sr.
  • Jaylen Waddle
  • Omarion Hampton

Players to Trade Away for Fantasy Football

Sean Tucker, RB, Buccaneers

Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Josh Grizzard said that running back Sean Tucker's workload has been going up each week as he continues to play well, and Grizzard "expects that to continue," according to Scott Smith of Buccaneers.com. Tucker played a season-high 44% of the offensive snaps in last week's loss to the Buffalo Bills and carried the ball a season-high 19 times for 106 yards and two rushing touchdowns. The 24-year-old Syracuse product also caught both of his targets for 34 yards and another score.

He has looked much more explosive than Rachaad White in recent weeks, and he could continue to have a key role in Tampa's backfield, even if Bucky Irving (foot, shoulder) returns on Sunday night for the first time since Week 4. Tampa's backfield could evolve into a three-headed monster when Irving returns, but at least for Week 12 against the Rams, Tucker appears to be in line to get the first chance to show he's still the hot hand.

Verdict: Sell at his peak as his value will likely decline once Irving returns to action.

Justin Jefferson, WR, Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings have been among the NFL's more disappointing teams in 2025, and superstar wide receiver Justin Jefferson said getting back to winning again begins with him. As first-time starting quarterback J.J. McCarthy has struggled, the Vikings have dropped to 4-6. Jefferson was visibly frustrated in a loss to Chicago on Sunday, but said that he aims to lead the turnaround.

"As a team, as a captain, as a leader of this team, I have to be the first one out there. I have to be headfirst, leading us into that direction of winning, of being where we need to be," Jefferson said, according to The Athletic.

While the Vikings have struggled and Jefferson is having a slightly down year by his standards, he's still the No. 13 overall PPR receiver. With Minnesota looking at a favorable schedule in the fantasy playoffs, managers have good reason to hope for a few big weeks at the best possible time.

Verdict: Sell if you can for a similar high-end WR1 as Jefferson's ceiling is much lower with McCarthy under center.

Kimani Vidal, RB, Chargers

Los Angeles Chargers running back Kimani Vidal carried the ball five times for 13 yards and caught two passes for -1 yards in the team's worst offensive showing of the year with a 35-6 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. He briefly left the game with a thigh injury before returning, but the offense never found its rhythm, running only 45 plays and maintaining possession for just 22 minutes.

Vidal's roller-coaster season continued, fluctuating between productive games and complete duds. His workload might decrease after the Bolts' much-needed Week 12 bye, as rookie Omarion Hampton (ankle) appears close to returning from IR after shedding his walking boot and resuming side work in practice. If Hampton is activated in Week 13, Vidal could shift back into a secondary role.

The bye week arrives at the perfect time for his recovery and for fantasy managers looking for clarity.

Verdict: Sell-high candidate for a mid-end RB2. Vidal will likely return to handcuff status once Hampton is cleared to return.
