Tommy Rees to Take Over Offensive Play-Calling in Cleveland

Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski announced on Monday that he's turning over offensive play-calling duties to offensive coordinator Tommy Rees, starting in Week 10 this Sunday against the New York Jets, according to Mark Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer. It's the second straight season in which Stefanski has given up play-calling duties during the year. It comes in 2025 with the Browns having the third-lowest scoring offense in the league, averaging 15.8 points per game. It hasn't helped that they moved from veteran quarterback Joe Flacco (who was traded) to rookie Dillon Gabriel. Gabriel has completed only 59.9% of his passes for 702 yards, five touchdowns, and two interceptions for a 26.8 total QBR. The Browns are sticking with Gabriel for the foreseeable future, and fellow rookie Shedeur Sanders (shoulder) was inactive before the team's Week 8 bye.
