Nick Suzuki Collects Two More Apples
Montreal Canadiens center Nick Suzuki dished out two assists in Saturday's 4-3 overtime win against the Ottawa Senators. His helpers came in the first period, when Cole Caufield netted his 10th goal of the season during even-strength play and Juraj Slafkovsky put the puck into the Senators net on the power-play. Caufield and Suzuki became the first set of Canadiens teammates since 1995-96 to both reach 15 points within their first dozen games. Suzuki leads the NHL with 16 assists in 12 outings and has tallied 18 points. His only scoreless effort came in Montreal's season opener against the Toronto Maple Leafs. In the next matchup, Suzuki will try to stay hot against a tough Philadelphia defense that has allowed the sixth-fewest goals in the league.
