5 Fantasy Football Bold Predictions - Frank Ammirante's Week 9 Picks

Kareem Hunt - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL Injury News, DFS Lineup Picks

Frank Ammirante's five fantasy football bold predictions for Week 9 of the 2025 NFL season. Expert predictions for Kareem Hunt, Tyrone Tracy Jr., Brock Bowers, Jameson Williams, and Colston Loveland.

Week 9 is here, which means that the stretch run is fast approaching. If you're 4-4 or worse, you're getting close to must-win territory every week in order to remain in playoff contention.

That's where you can use my Week 9 bold predictions to help you set your lineups. Each week, I focus on fringe starters who can win the week for you, as they're in a good spot to hit their ceiling. Last week, I nailed it with Troy Franklin, predicting that he'd get 100+ receiving yards, but he did even better, putting up 89 with two touchdowns. I was also pretty close with Jaylin Noel, who fell 12 yards shy of my 75+ prediction.

This week, my Week 9 bold predictions have zeroed in on Kareem Hunt, Tyrone Tracy Jr., Brock Bowers, Jameson Williams, and Colston Loveland. Each of these players is in a good spot to provide you with a spike week, which could get you that much-needed win. I personally benefited from firing up Franklin last week, as without him, I would have lost one of my key matchups.

Kareem Hunt Scores 2+ Touchdowns

Hunt has rushed for 245 yards on 62 yards while adding 57 yards through the air, which is hardly anything to write home about. But despite sharing touches with Isiah Pacheco and, to a lesser degree, Brashard Smith, Hunt has found the end zone five times in only eight games. Two of those scores came against the Commanders on Monday Night Football in Week 8.

The veteran running back is in a good spot to build on this performance in Week 9, as Pacheco is currently nursing an MCL sprain, which makes it highly likely that he'll miss this game against the Bills. That leaves Hunt to share touches with Smith. However, as the superior pass protector, we can reasonably expect Hunt to be the major beneficiary here, where he could see upwards of 15+ total touches.

We've seen the Bills have difficulty stopping the run at times this year. Think back to Week 6, when Bijan Robinson rushed for 170 yards on Monday Night Football against them. Now, obviously, Hunt is nowhere close to Bijan, but he can feasibly get to 65+ yards on the ground in this one.

We've got a projected shootout on tap for this AFC tilt, as reflected in the 52.5 game total. That means it's likely that Hunt will have plenty of opportunities to hit pay dirt. I have Hunt as a high-end RB2 this week, ranking him at RB15 at the time of this article. If you're fortunate to have him on your roster, make sure that he's in your lineup here.

Tyrone Tracy Jr. Puts Up 100+ Total Yards

It wasn't long ago that Tracy Jr. was turning heads in his rookie season last year, most notably in that primetime game against the Steelers, when he rushed for 145 yards on only 20 carries. With Cam Skattebo out for the year, the Giants will lead on Tracy as their bellcow. This is an explosive runner who can make an impact in the passing game, so you're going to want him in your lineups this week.

While the matchup against the 49ers looks tough on paper, that's not what the projections are telling us, as this game has a 48.5-point total, so it could be higher scoring than it looks at first glance.

We saw how Skattebo was becoming an elite fantasy asset while healthy. Jaxson Dart is the real deal, able to keep this offense afloat and allow for strong fantasy production from his running back.

With that in mind, there's a legitimate chance that Tracy could see 18+ touches in this matchup. He'll be one of the key pieces of this group, along with Wan'Dale Robinson. It's crazy to see how much Dart has elevated this unit, so we have to ride with Tracy here.

Brock Bowers Puts Up 100+ Receiving Yards

Originally, I had Travis Hunter here, but the rookie wide receiver/cornerback was surprisingly placed on injured reserve on Friday morning. I'm going to pivot to a superstar tight end returning to action, going with Bowers as my replacement player.

There's a good chance that the long layoff helped Bowers get back to 100%. It's clear that the Raiders held him out until he was fully healthy. Now practicing in full, we're likely to see the rookie year version of Bowers.

We've already seen Bowers put up 100+ receiving yards earlier this season, so I wouldn't be shocked to see that again in a projected close game against the Jaguars.

What's great about Bowers this week is that his props are low (49.5) and his DFS salary is reasonable, so get him in your lineups.

Jameson Williams Puts Up 100+ Receiving Yards

Williams has been one of the biggest busts in fantasy football this season, catching only 17-of-30 targets for 289 yards and two touchdowns. After a catch-less Week 7, Jamo headed into the bye week as a player that fantasy managers were considering to drop. But make sure not to do that because we could see better days ahead for this explosive wideout.

Leading up to this game against the Vikings, the Lions' coaching staff has made it clear that they need to do a better job getting Jamo more involved in the offense. Offensive coordinator John Morton stated this publicly to ESPN earlier this week.

Detroit has one of the highest implied totals on the slate in a home game where they could pour on points against the division rival Vikings. This could be a game where Williams is able to get loose downfield, eclipsing 100 yards with a touchdown.

This is the classic case where "the squeaky wheel gets the grease," so let's bet on Williams to have a spike week in this spot. It also helps that we've seen the Vikings give up big games to Ladd McConkey, A.J. Brown, and DeVonta Smith in their last two games.

Colston Loveland Puts Up 75+ Receiving Yards

Colston Loveland finds himself in this column for the second week in a row. After disappointing me with only 38 yards this week, I'm going back to the well for another shot because the first-round rookie tight end finds himself in a smash spot this week. That's because he's taking on the Bengals, who rank 32nd in receiving yards allowed to tight ends this season.

The Bears are dealing with injuries at wide receiver this week, with Rome Odunze and DJ Moore banged up and Luther Burden III ruled out. That could force Loveland into a more prominent role than usual, where Caleb Williams has to rely on him as a safety valve.

Even though Cole Kmet is returning this week, it's reasonable to assume that he won't be at full capacity, so the Bears could try to get Loveland more involved. The matchup is ripe for the taking. It's time for Chicago to start to show why they made the former Michigan standout the 10th overall pick in this year's draft.
