Quinshon Judkins, Cam Skattebo, TreVeyon Henderson for Week 3? Fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks and recommendations for the 2025 NFL season.
The very hyped up 2025 rookie class of running backs is off to a very slow start this season. Entering Week 3, seventh-round pick Jacory Croskey-Merritt has the most rookie rushing yards with just 99, ranking twenty-second in the league.
A few rookies did see an uptick in playing time moving from Week 1 to Week 2. Notably, Browns’ second-rounder Quinshon Judkins made his NFL debut and touted the rock 10 times for 61 yards. Cam Skattebo also seemingly surpassed Tyrone Tracy Jr. in the pecking order in the Giants’ backfield.
Between Judkins, Skattebo, and TreVeyon Henderson, are any of these three rookie running backs startable in Week 3?

Should I Start Quinshon Judkins for Fantasy Football?
Quinshon Judkins looks as if he will immediately become the lead back in Cleveland’s offense after looking solid in his NFL debut. Fellow rookie Dylan Sampson and veteran Jerome Ford will certainly mix in at times, but this is Judkins’ backfield to lose.

With that being said, this week is just his second NFL game after missing the entire offseason with the team. To make matters worse, Cleveland plays one of the league’s best defenses in the Green Bay Packers. Green Bay has stifled opposing running backs the first two weeks of the season, and that should remain the case in Week 3.
Judkins ranks as RotoBaller’s RB36 this week. Best interest would be to leave the rookie on the bench in most leagues as we don’t know what his workload will look like paired with the fact that Green Bay’s defense has been stout through two weeks.
Should I Start Cam Skattebo for Fantasy Football?
Exciting rookie running back Cam Skattebo had a slow debut, rushing twice for -2 yards and catching two passes for 12 yards against the Commanders in Week 1. His usage ticked up in Week 2 against Dallas, where he led the backfield with 11 carries for 45 yards and a touchdown while catching two passes for 14 yards.

Skattebo looks to be ahead of Tyrone Tracy Jr. in the backfield pecking order for now but like Judkins, he faces a tough test in Week 3 as the Giants host Kansas City. The Chiefs’ run defense isn’t as tough as a matchup as Green Bay’s is, however, and Skattebo’s usage appears a bit more predictable than Judkins’.
Skattebo checks in as the RB32 this week in RotoBaller’s rankings, putting him in the RB3/Flex conversation. He is a borderline start depending on the format and size of your league.
Should I Start TreVeyon Henderson for Fantasy Football?
New England Patriots’ rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson has been one of fantasy football’s biggest disappointments through the first two weeks after being hyped up all offseason. The second-rounder has slotted in as the team’s third-string running back behind Rhamondre Stevenson and Antonio Gibson through the first two weeks, making his Round 4 ADP not very justifiable.
While Henderson’s opportunities have been limited, he has looked explosive with the ball in his hands. On the season, Henderson has carried the ball eight times for 37 yards and has eight receptions for 54 yards. It seems like it will only be a matter of time before the rookie is more involved on offense, but guessing when that happens is no easy feat.
New England plays Pittsburgh this weekend, and their run defense has been shaky. Starting Henderson is betting on him to break off a big play or two on limited opportunities. There are worse options out there, but it is hard to feel comfortable putting a guy averaging eight touches a game into your lineup.
Henderson is ranked as RotoBaller’s RB35 this week. Given how early he was drafted he may be hard to bench, but the rookie is a big-play-dependent flex option this week.
