Jordan Love, Russell Wilson, Caleb Williams: Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Picks for Fantasy Football Week 3

Jordan Love - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL Injury News, DFS Lineup Picks

Should I start Jordan Love, Russell Wilson, Caleb Williams for Week 3? Fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks and recommendations for the 2025 NFL season.

Quarterback injuries are stacking up, and now managers must look to other options. With Joe Burrow (toe), Brock Purdy (toe/shoulder), Justin Fields (concussion), and J.J. McCarthy (ankle) all banged up, you might be wondering where to turn.

There are some options you might be looking at: Russell Wilson is on just 14% of rosters in Yahoo! leagues, coming off a monster contest against the Cowboys. At 85%, Jordan Love is highly rostered, but you might already have him sitting on your team. And Caleb Williams, rostered in 80% of leagues, is a player who gives managers trust issues but is improving for fantasy.

These quarterbacks are probably right on the starting bubble for a lot of fantasy teams. So, should you start these guys this week or look for better options? Let's dig into how these signal callers can make or break your week.

Should I Start Jordan Love for Fantasy Football?

Love has started the year efficiently, with 15.92 fantasy points in Week 1 and 20.88 in Week 2. He's connected on 35-of-53 passes for 480 yards and four scores, with no interceptions.

The Packers' defense is dominating this season, which has limited Love's passing opportunities in the second half. Those splits are noteworthy: In the first half, Love is 25-of-34 for 381 yards and three TDs. In the second half, just 10-of-19 for 99 yards and a score. Week 3 seems to set up differently for the QB.

In this matchup, Green Bay takes on the Browns. Cleveland has been elite against the run, allowing just 1.9 yards per carry through two contests (lowest in the league).

Running backs for both Baltimore and Cincinnati couldn't get it done when they faced Cleveland. Love should be forced to throw more, despite losing Jayden Reed to a broken collarbone.

He'll have to rely on Romeo Doubs, Dontayvion Wicks, rookies Matthew Golden and Savion Williams, and safety blanket Tucker Kraft (124 yards in Week 2). If Cleveland contains the run game, the QB will have to get the ball to his pass catchers. He's a safe start this week, with an upside for chunk plays (of note: his aDOT is 12.5 yards).

Should I Start Russell Wilson for Fantasy Football?

It's only been two weeks, but we've seen plenty of surprises so far. In Week 2, Wilson shocked fantasy managers, displaying a vintage performance against the Cowboys. He threw for 450 yards and tacked on three touchdowns through the air in that 30.3 fantasy point outing. Previously, in Week 1, he was only able to post 11.1 fantasy points.

The Giants have excellent wide receivers who enjoyed strong outings last weekend, Malik Nabers (167 yards, 2 TDs in Week 2) and Wan'Dale Robinson (142, 1 TD). This week, New York is playing its first home game of the season, and they'll hope to get the most from their young WRs.

Now, New York will be taking on the Chiefs, and managers should temper expectations. Kansas City's defense shouldn't be overlooked, and neither should Wilson's years of inconsistency.

The veteran leads the NFL in passing yards at the moment, but managers shouldn't expect a repeat performance of Week 2. This season, he's more of a match-up-based play, someone you use when a Burrow or Purdy goes down. He's a fine fill-in in deeper leagues, but in shallower ones, don't get too cute: bench him and pivot elsewhere.

Should I Start Caleb Williams for Fantasy Football?

The Cowboys' defense is one fantasy managers should take advantage of. Through two contests, they're allowing the third-most passing yards (602) to opposing QBs. Additionally, they've given up the third-most rushing yards to QBs this season at 82. Seems Williams might have a reason to be in your starting lineup this week.

Wilson just went off for 450 yards and three touchdowns in a Week 2 matchup with Dallas. He ended the day with 31.3 fantasy points, second-most for a QB in Week 2.

In the season debut, Jalen Hurts tallied 24.3 fantasy points against Dallas. The Cowboys gave up plenty of fantasy points to opposing QBs last year, and they've already allowed the third-most this season.

Through two weeks, Williams has scored 24.2 and 16.92 fantasy points, and a connection with second-year wideout Rome Odunze is blossoming. Odunze hauled in two touchdowns in Week 2 and will look for a repeat performance against Dallas.

The matchup has shootout potential, so both quarterbacks in the game (Dak Prescott and Williams) should thrive. Williams is a must-start this week in an ideal situation.
