Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 2:
Aaron Jones Sr., RB, Minnesota Vikings
Kayshon Boutte, WR, New England Patriots
DK Metcalf, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers
A.J. Brown, WR, Philadelphia Eagles
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown reportedly drew interest from multiple teams this offseason, per The Athletic's Dianna Russini, but general manager Howie Roseman shut down all trade inquiries.
Brown is coming off his least productive season since 2021, missing time with a hamstring injury while the Eagles leaned on a more run-heavy attack. He opened 2025 slowly as well, managing just one catch in Week 1 against the Dallas Cowboys, though Philadelphia still pulled out the win.
Despite the sluggish start, there's no expectation of a trade, and Brown should be viewed as a high-end WR2 heading into the Eagles' Super Bowl rematch with the Kansas City Chiefs.
George Pickens, WR, Dallas Cowboys
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens' Cowboys debut was underwhelming on the stat sheet -- three catches for 30 yards -- but there's no reason for fantasy managers to smash the panic button. Pickens himself said he's eager to "get back in the lab" after seeing real game coverages, and drew a key pass interference that set up a Dallas score.
Here's the bigger fantasy picture: the Giants' secondary just put Terry McLaurin in a Week 1 cage, but their track record isn't airtight. In that same matchup, Washington's No. 2 wideout, Deebo Samuel Sr., ripped them for a top-six fantasy finish. That bodes well for Pickens, who functions as Dallas's 1B to CeeDee Lamb's 1A.
Pickens and Lamb look like natural complements, and Pickens' chemistry with quarterback Dak Prescott should only improve as the season progresses. While questions about maturity followed him from Pittsburgh, Dallas is betting on his upside, and so should you.
Jaylen Warren, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers
Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jaylen Warren found the end zone in the season opener and will look to build on that success in Week 2 against the Seattle Seahawks. Seattle's run defense was middle-of-the-pack in 2024 and surrendered a big fantasy performance to Christian McCaffrey in Week 1.
Warren may not be the offensive threat that McCaffrey is, but he has proven to be effective both on the ground and through the air as the clear leader of the Steelers' backfield. Rookie Kaleb Johnson has seemingly yet to carve out a role in OC Arthur Smith's system, and while Kenneth Gainwell handled 10 touches last week, he was largely inefficient with them.
Though this matchup isn't expected to be high-scoring, Pittsburgh is coming off an impressive 34-point showing led by a motivated Aaron Rodgers and will look to stay hot in its home opener. Warren projects as a low-end RB2 or strong flex option for Sunday's contest.
