Can you believe we're already in Week 2 of the NFL season? Time, slow down! This is the week where it's easy to overreact to big performances (or slow starts) to begin the season. Many lineup decisions can be difficult to make, especially this early in the season.
Three familiar names who carry strong track records had different storylines in Week 1. After one contest, managers are wondering about these WRs' roles moving forward.

Should I Start DK Metcalf for Fantasy Football?
In his first contest with the Steelers, DK Metcalf hauled in 4-of-7 targets for 83 yards in the 34-32 win over the Jets.
Metcalf led Pittsburgh in receiving yards and targets, displaying chemistry with Aaron Rodgers (also in his Steelers debut). Even facing Sauce Gardner, Metcalf created chunk plays, averaging 16.8 yards per reception.

Rodgers fired four touchdown passes in Week 1, but none of those went to Metcalf. The veteran receiver should gain red zone work soon, given his usage and top receiving role with Pittsburgh. He'll face his former team, the Seahawks, in a Week 2 matchup (following up Rodgers' revenge game with the Jets in Week 1).
In that Week 1 contest, Metcalf ended the day with 12.3 PPR points (WR28), a strong start that needed just one TD to propel him into top WR status. It's coming. His workload is encouraging for fantasy managers, so consider him a strong WR2 with upside heading into Week 2's game.
Should I Start Davante Adams for Fantasy Football?
Another player debuting with a new team in Week 1 was Davante Adams, now a Ram. In the 14-9 victory over Houston, Adams caught 4-of-8 targets for 51 yards.
Not the most significant numbers, but he was second on the team in targets and played a complementary role next to Puka Nacua. It was Adams' first time seeing game action with Matthew Stafford, so managers have to be happy with the eight targets.

Stafford looked sharp in Week 1 despite the limited work in the offseason (back injury). The quarterback's connection with the wideout should only get better.
Week 2's matchup is a more favorable one, with the Rams taking on a Titans defense that conceded 20 points to Denver (in a game where Bo Nix played poorly). Tennessee's secondary isn't as stout as Houston's, which should benefit the 32-year-old receiver.
Adams might not deliver WR1 production, but his volume and role as the Rams' No. 2 receiver make him a must-start at WR2 or flex this week. Fantasy managers should expect better results in Week 2.
Should I Start Mike Evans for Fantasy Football?
Facing the Falcons in Week 1, Mike Evans brought in five receptions on eight targets for 51 yards. The former Texas A&M standout led the Buccaneers in receptions and targets in the 23-20 win.
The wideout was blanketed by A.J. Terrell Jr. for much of the game, limiting his ceiling, yet he still produced a solid 10.1 PPR points (WR37).

One of the biggest stories from Week 1 was the eruption of rookie Emeka Egbuka. He snagged two touchdowns on six targets. The rookie's emergence keeps Evans in more of the flex/WR2 territory.
Evans' eight targets illustrate just how close he was to having a big game. The upcoming matchup versus the Texans should allow both Evans and Egbuka to be effective, much like how Evans and Chris Godwin have co-existed over the years.
Speaking of Godwin, he's expected to be sidelined until at least Week 5. Evans has a secure grasp on WR work and is set up for a steady target share. Feel comfortable deploying him as a flex with WR2 upside in Week 2.
