Hello everyone, and welcome back to our Week 1 fantasy football weather report for the 2025 NFL season! It has been a long time since we were able to look into meaningful games, so it is great to be back in the saddle. I will be here each and every week through the Super Bowl to discuss the weather forecasts for each and every  NFL game, where appropriate. This is an article that is near and dear to my heart, as I am always looking for a weather edge where I can find one.

We will rely on the most accurate and up-to-date weather forecasts for each stadium from AccuWeather, a source that provides comprehensive weather maps. Factors such as temperature, precipitation, wind speed/direction, and visibility can play a crucial role in shaping game outcomes and statistics.

Our goal with this article is to assist you in making informed decisions for your fantasy teams and other betting activities, allowing you to capitalize on opportunities or navigate challenges posed by weather dynamics. Dome Games (No Weather Impact)

Some games in Week 1 will benefit from being played in domed stadiums, where the weather won't affect the outcome. These indoor venues provide a consistent environment.

Minimal Weather Impact

These outdoor games in Week 1 don't appear to have very many weather concerns.

Kansas City Chiefs @ Los Angeles Chargers (Friday Night Slate, Sao Paulo, Brazil)

We could see some light rain during this game in Sau Paulo, Brazil, between the AFC West rivals, however, the winds are expected to be mild with gusts only around 16 mph. Fantasy impacts should be minimal in this one.

New York Giants @ Washington Commanders (Sunday Early Slate)

The weather in Landover, Maryland, should be pretty solid for this NFC East matchup. AccuWeather currently projects that temperatures will be around 81 degrees with little to no precipitation. Wind gusts could reach 20 mph, but currently, sustained winds are projected to be around eight mph. While the gusts could impact the kicking game slightly here, I would not necessarily bench a kicker due to them.

Cincinnati Bengals @ Cleveland Browns (Sunday Early Slate)

This should be a fun game between two AFC North rivals in Cleveland, Ohio, where the weather should be solid for football. Overall, temperatures in the mid-60s are expected with minimal wind impact, as current wind gusts are only projected to reach 16 mph. While the weather in Cleveland can often be dicey, that does not appear to be the case for this matchup.

Pittsburgh Steelers @ New York Jets (Sunday Early Slate)

Aaron Rodgers will be making his Pittsburgh Steelers debut against his former team in the New York Jets, and the weather should be almost perfect at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Currently, temperatures are expected to be in the upper 70s with plenty of sunshine. Winds are also expected to be mild with sustained winds around eight mph and possible gusts of up to 18 mph.

Las Vegas Raiders @ New England Patriots (Sunday Early Slate)

The home opener at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts, should be pretty solid in terms of weather for the New England Patriots and Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday. It will be in the mid-70s with a decent amount of cloud cover. AccuWeather also tells us that winds will be approximately eight mph with possible gusts up to 22 mph. The winds do tend to swirl a bit at Gillette Stadium, so some caution could be used with kickers in this game, but I would not sweat the details too much here.

Carolina Panthers @ Jacksonville Jaguars (Sunday Early Slate)

The weather down in Duval County should be relatively solid for the Jaguars' home opener against the Carolina Panthers. That being said, there could be some precipitation during certain points of the game, as there is currently a 40% chance of rain on Sunday afternoon. Aside from the possible precipitation, the temperatures should be in the upper 80s with a heat index close to 90 degrees, although the humidity is expected to be near 53%. Overall, the weather impacts on this game should be minimal.

Tennessee Titans @ Denver Broncos (Sunday Late Slate)

The weather at Empower Field at Mile High Stadium on Sunday for the Broncos' home opener should be mild with a mix of sun and clouds. Temperatures are expected to be in the mid-80s with cloud cover. Cloud cover brings the possibility of some afternoon thunderstorms, and chances of precipitation are currently set around 55%. That being said, there should be minimal impacts to your fantasy rosters here in regard to wind, as sustained winds are expected to be around eight mph with gusts closer to 17 mph.

San Francisco 49ers @ Seattle Seahawks (Sunday Late Slate)

Seattle is certainly a place we can expect to see rain throughout the season, but the chances of rain during the home opener for the Seahawks are minimal. There could be some precipitation in the Seattle area in the morning, but the afternoon gives way to cloudy skies with temperatures expected to be in the mid-70s. Winds are also expected to be mild with sustained winds hovering around six mph and gusts pushing 16 mph.

Detroit Lions @ Green Bay Packers (Sunday Late Slate)

Sunday afternoon at Lambeau Field will be one of the coolest games on the Week 1 slate in terms of temperature, as it is expected to be in the upper 50s and low 60s during the game. This is classic football weather and should provide for a nice atmosphere for those patrons in attendance. The skies will be a bit cloudy; however, the chance of precipitation is currently listed at about 25%. Feel free to start all of your studs in this one.

Baltimore Ravens @ Buffalo Bills (Sunday Night Slate)

One of the most anticipated games of Week 1 will take place between the Ravens and the Bills at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, New York, on Sunday night. While we will certainly have a home game or two for the Bills listed in the Severe Weather Impact category at some point this season, that will not be the case for Sunday night, as temperatures are expected to be in the lower 50s during the game with little chance of precipitation. Winds should also be rather mild, with sustained winds hovering around four mph and gusts coming in around 17 mph.

Minnesota Vikings @ Chicago Bears (Monday Night Slate)

While there will be rain throughout the day leading up to the Bears' home opener on Monday night, the rain should give way to clear skies and temperatures in the 60s for the game. Winds are expected to be mild at around four mph, which is always something to be thankful for in the Windy City.

Moderate Weather Impact

Let's take a look at some games where the weather is not quite severe, but could still have a moderate impact on the game and help give us some information on what types of skill players might be worth being more cautious with.

Dallas Cowboys @ Philadelphia Eagles (Thursday Night Slate)

While temperatures at Lincoln Financial Field for the NFL season opener are expected to be mild and in the upper-70s, we could see a moderate amount of wind, as well as some precipitation. While the rain is expected to be on the lighter side, it is worth noting. Also, wind gusts could creep up close the the 15 mph mark, which is not as significant as originally expected when wind gusts were projected at 25 mph.

With that miss, Eagles K Jake Elliott is now 0-for-5 on 50+ yard FG attempts this season.

Severe Weather Impact

There are currently no games scheduled in Week 1 with severe weather concerns.
