Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Stuart Fairchild (oblique) was transferred to the 60-day injured list on Thursday. Fairchild has been on the IL since July 23 with a strained right oblique. The 29-year-old has not yet resumed baseball activities since then and would be eligible to return from the IL the last week of the season. Fairchild has been limited to only 28 games this year due to the injury. When he was on the field, he slashed .273/.333/.606 with two stolen bases, both of which were in one game.--Dr. Reuven Guy
