Justin Fields Inefficient in Limited Playing Time
Justin Fields completed 1-of-5 passes for four yards in Saturday's 31-12 loss to the New York Giants. He added five yards on his lone rush. The 26-year-old and the other Jets' starters got just two drives in this one, and the signal-caller had a rough time connecting with his intended targets. Still, he managed to score three points on their second possession, despite dropping back only twice. If that drive is any indication of how Gang Green projects to operate, we can expect some iteration of a West Coast offense from them - bombarding defenses with a run-centric approach and a short, quick passing attack. It seems likely that Fields and the rest of the first-stringers will get an extended look in their preseason finale as a final tune-up before the regular season. That comes against the visiting Philadelphia Eagles next Friday night.
