When is Jordan Lawlar getting called up? Will Lawlar get promoted in August 2025? Read about this top fantasy baseball prospect outlook heading into Week 20.
Arizona Diamondbacks infield prospect Jordan Lawlar has yet to be given a full look at the major leagues. However, with Arizona selling several key players at the trade deadline, the former first-round pick could finally be nearing his first extended stint in the big leagues.
While he is currently on the IL with a hamstring injury, Lawlar is nearing a return and could return to Arizona in the coming weeks.
Should fantasy managers continue to stash Lawlar on their bench? When should fantasy managers expect him to get the call? Let's dive in!
Jordan Lawlar Prospect Update for Fantasy Baseball
According to reports by Alex Weiner of Arizonasports.com, the top prospect in the desert was cleared to take live batting practice. This is a critical step in his recovery process. If he handles this session well, he could be released from the 7-day IL before the end of the week.
While he has struggled during his first taste of the major leagues, Lawlar has been nothing but dominant at Triple-A Reno this summer. Through 53 games with the Aces, Lawlar has posted an elite .319/.410/.583 slash line with 19 doubles, 10 home runs, and 18 stolen bases.
With third baseman Eugenio Suarez recently shipped to Seattle, Lawlar would have a clear path to playing time when he is promoted.

Jordan Lawlar Outlook for Fantasy Baseball
Throughout his first 22 games in the major leagues, the former sixth overall pick has held an underwhelming .080/.179/.080 slash line with no extra-base hits and only one swiped bag. However, throughout these stints, Lawlar only saw sporadic playing time and was never given an extended leash.
With Suarez traded, Lawlar has the most straightforward path he has ever had to full-time at-bats throughout his young career.
Given his elite speed and power production, Lawlar has a five-category upside that can win your league down the street. He is a strong stash option in all 12+ team leagues heading into Week 20 of the fantasy baseball season.
