Starling Marte Generating Trade Interest
Starling Marte has drawn trade interest leading up to the July 31 deadline, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports. There's no word on whether the Mets are interested in giving up Marte, who leads the team with 50 appearances at DH this season. The 36-year-old is now in a timeshare at the position with Mark Vientos. Set to become a free agent at the end of the season, Marte has batted an effective .275/.356/.395 with four home runs, 20 RBI, 22 runs scored, and five stolen bases in 192 plate appearances.
