On Saturday's UFC 318 main event, former featherweight champion Max Holloway defended his BMF title by beating former interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier after an epic back-and-forth fight. Both Holloway and Poirier were pushed to the brink in this bout. Holloway badly hurt Poirier in the first and the second round and almost finished him, but Poirier rallied back and almost finished Holloway near the end of the second round. After an extremely close fight, two judges scored the fight 49-46 for Holloway, and the third had it 48-47 in his favor as well. In 25 minutes of action, Holloway landed 198 significant strikes. Holloway's next fight just might be a rematch with Ilia Topuria.--Alen Kurbasic
