Luis Urias Injures Hamstring on Wednesday
Luis Urias (hamstring) left Wednesday's loss to the Tampa Bay Rays early with right-hamstring soreness, according to the team. Before leaving the contest early, Urias went 0-for-2 at the plate and was replaced at second base by Max Schuemann, who slid over from shortstop. Max Muncy shifted from third base to the 6, while Gio Urshela entered the game to play third base. The A's don't think Urias' injury will warrant a trip to the injured list, but that could change if the 28-year-old isn't back on Friday for the series opener against the San Francisco Giants after an off day on Thursday. Even if Urias avoids the IL heading into the All-Star break, he's likely to become more of a bench player with both Zack Gelof (ribs) and Miguel Andujar (oblique) nearing their returns. Urias came into Wednesday hitting .241 (54-for-224) with seven home runs, 18 RBI, 22 runs and two steals.
