Merab Dvalishvili defended the bantamweight title for the second time by defeating former bantamweight champion Sean O'Malley via third-round submission in the main event of UFC 316 on Saturday. Dvalishvili was able to mix up his striking and wrestling to dominate O'Malley en route to submission victory. The finish came in the third round when Dvalishvili sank in a modified north-south choke with a ninja choke grip, forcing O'Malley to tap.
