Kyle Wright Restarts Rehab Assignment
Kyle Wright (shoulder) resumed his minor-league rehab assignment and threw 13 pitches over two perfect innings with Double-A Northwest Arkansas on Sunday, according to MLB.com. Wright hasn't pitched all year while recovering from right-shoulder surgery that he had in October of 2023, and he had his rehab assignment paused due to right-shoulder fatigue. The 29-year-old had allowed six runs (five earned) on seven hits while walking three and striking out five over six innings in his first two rehab starts with Northwest Arkansas before his rehab was paused. Not only has Wright not pitched at all this year, but he also didn't pitch at all in 2024, so when he is finally able to return to the Royals this year, fantasy managers probably shouldn't expect much. The former first-rounder won 21 games with the Braves in 2022 but hasn't thrown more than 38 innings in his other five seasons.
