Thairo Estrada Taking Batting Practice
Thairo Estrada (wrist) has taken batting practice the last three days and faced "velocity" on Tuesday, according to interim manager Warren Schaeffer. Estrada has yet to play in 2025 due to a fractured right wrist that landed him on the 60-day injured list on March 27. While the 29-year-old is making progress while swinging the bat, his timetable for a return is still unknown, and he'll most likely need a lengthy minor-league rehab assignment once he's cleared to play in games. If Estrada can avoid any setbacks with his injured wrist, it's possible he can rejoin the Rockies' big-league roster by June 1. Estrada had back-to-back 14-homer seasons and also stole 20-plus bases in 2022 and 2023 with the San Francisco Giants before struggling to a .217/.247/.343 slash line and being cut last year. When healthy, he could be the team's regular second baseman, although fantasy managers shouldn't expect much.
